Halloween screensaver.

Overview

Note: Bonez Screensaver is no longer under development, and it is no longer available for sale.

Bonez ScreenSaver is a spooky screensaver. Somewhere deep within a dark forest, where once there was a small village, is a forgotten place. Nothing left now, but a few scattered markers, most of the names have eroded away. Evil deeds took place here, and even the passing of centuries can't erase the pain and suffering that has soaked into the ground like blood. Features include:
  • Spooky graveyard forest scene.
  • Night sounds with distant thunder.
  • Anatomically correct 3D Skeleton that walks, talks, and performs magic tricks.
  • Erie speech synthesis, (Mac OS 10.3 or greater).
  • Fun Halloween props including animated Black Cat, and Hanging Corpse.
You may enjoy Bonez for free, but if you register for $5.00, you get these bonus features:
  • Interactive Mode allows you to click on items within the scene, for animated surprises!
  • Throw rocks at the skeleton if you wish, but do so at your own risk!
  • The skeleton performs additional tricks, including dancing to an erie tune.
  • Enter your name, and the skeleton will speak to you personally.

Thanks for the Snow Leopard update. Halloween just wouldn't be the same with Bonez.

After I installed this, (1.3), the only things that were on screen were the bats. I had to turn on the interactive mode,(paid for), and then there were gaps in the characters until the skeleton walked around them. Then they filled in. The sound was a little jumpy as well. Going back to 1.2.

I haven't yet contacted the author, but I thought I would mention that on my Dual G5, sometimes the screensaver will cause a spinning beachball of death after running for a bit. Thankfully, I can still use the keyboard to restart without causing problems, but of course, I loose anything I had open in the background. I haven't been able to replicate the problem on either of my G4 machines (one of which is also a dual).
