Create a summary image of video data.

Overview

VideoSummary creates a summary image of video data from a movie by extracting some frame images and arranging them in one image data. You can save, print, copy and drag it. The source movie must be playable by QuickTime, such as QuickTime, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-4 and DVC format. A video clip captured by iMovie and Final Cut Express/Pro can also be a source of this software. With MPEG-2 Playback Component, it can produce an image from a VOB file of video DVD.

A simple editing function of the movie by cut and paste is also available.

Excellent utility. I used it to convert a movie into images which I need for an OpenGL computer game. This is the only program that could do it (out of 10 I tried) and is understandable. It is fast too. The editing of the movie is great (shift key to select a portion of the movie). The only disadvantage is probably that it makes one big image instead of several smaller. As it turned out this was actually an advantage because now I could add an alpha chanel and color adjustments in one go. Problem is the pricing, but it seems to work fine even if you haven't paid.

download and used it to share images on a forum. It was pretty easy to use. It exported the image as a .tiff but I just ended up converting it into a lower resolution jpeg through photoshop.
