Travel to a strange world inhabited with Alien creatures, and Blood-Sucking-Space-Bats.
Planet Thirteen is an alien environment with three moons, floating 'Humanoid Pods' that burst into flames when you touch them, and music from the progressive rock band, "Planet Thirteen".
When you arrive, you'll discover that a small Silver Alien is exploring this weird place, taunting you with wise cracks, and semi-lewd behavior! If you register, you can turn on "Interactive Mode", and use your laser gun to shoot at the little beast! (See below for more on, "Interactive Mode").
You may use Planet Thirteen for FREE, but if register for $5.00, you can tell the Alien your name, and switch on "Interactive Mode".
What's new in Planet Thirteen Screensaver
Version 2.1: Compiled as a Universal Binary to add native support for Intel based Macs. Optimized some code for more efficient screen drawing. Added support for Mighty Mouse so that right-mouse clicks, or scroll wheel, won't exit the screensaver when in interactive mode.

After reading the reviews I kind of wanted to get this for my Mac. Sounds like it would have been super campy alternative. But, I guess it's abandonware.

This screensaver is really dreadfull! It's amateurish, dumb, and reflects a lack of creativity. I'd be embarrassed to use it on my Mac.
There are lots of interesting and beautiful screensavers out there, most of them for free.
Seek and you shall find. But this one is a real turkey! Ugh!!!
This is probably some of the worst crap I've ever seen out there. Yes, the screensaver works, though not as a screensaver. And it is no fun at all. Don't download it.
Okay, it's nice. But really, what happens... there's floating aliens. There's a funny man. Except he's not funny. There's a planet, too. It's not that good, to be honest.
Please... give us a bit more. Planet Thirteen, in truth, ain't that good.
Skyrocket Software, at the moment, appears to be the most prolific producer of mac screensavers there is. Perhaps they could put in a little more effort?
A lot of work has gone into this Screensaver, but little things let it down: the alien's legs walk backwards half the time, it's range of phrases and actions is very limited, and the background is vestigal (strange, considering the huge download...8MB for something little better than Talking Moose with a new skin?).
Four word summary: "Is that it? Oh." Wait for version 2.0.
This could be so much better. Takes ages to load all its bits and pieces, and when it does you're greeted with a fairly static screen and a small alien whose animation isn't quite right. Every now and then nothing much happens at all... oh dear.
