Just a quick note to let folks know that as of version 1.2 Anthracite now requires OS X 10.3.8 or newer. If you still need Jaguar support, 1.1.2 is still available, but we of course recommend that you stay upgraded to the latest version of both MacOS X and Anthracite.
I've been interested in--and tinkering with--this program for a while, and feel like I should pipe in with a comment here: This is the kind of software that sneaks up on you, and if you're even remotely conversant on the tech side, it's a godsend. The cool thing about OS X is how well it integrates a BSD command-line versatility with an amazingly elegant GUI. All the same, a very obvious gap still exists between the two for certain purposes. Nothing else I've seen offers the kind of bridge this program does for some very specific gaps.
And I have to say that from my experience, support is first rate. This is a company run by people who know what they're doing, and haven't lost the enthusiasm for it somewhere along the way.
Used this program a lot, and I'm looking forward to continuing with this release. The previous was amazing: one of the best products I've used in a long time--it more fills the niche for GUI mac user who needs to extract and compile text, data, etc. from files, web searches, etc... It's like a Swiss army knife for that sort of thing. Haven't even scratched the surface, though, of what I suspect it can pull off. Kudos to the developer.
