Purchase the Apple MPEG-2 Playback for $20.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/

Then, open your ripped DVD Video_TS folder with MPEG Streamclip (FREE):
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15466/mpeg-streamclip

From here you can scrub across the entire DVD and transcode in DV or any other codec quicktime supports.

I was too lazy to search all night for anything else so I paid the $40. Wish I hadn't as there are better free products out there. Also, it converts native widescreen into 4:3, whether you want it to or not.

This software does exactly what it says on the tin and more...I've been trying to demuxe my .MOD files (which are really MPG2 files but you'd never know with 3ac audio) created by my JVC MC100 camera to edit on my Mac OSX Tiger for weeks. Now all I do is convert them via drag and drop with DropDV. Easy. It even creates an iMove project file and the media files import easily into Final Cut Pro.

I've been looking for this software for weeks.

It works a treat for me and keeps me living the digital dream...

It's worth the small price. If I could sell you a copy to make a commission; I would.

It works. email me if you have any problems.

I think its a great tool to edit programs you've recorded with a DVD recorder. Record the program. Then rip it to get the MPEG files. Use DropDV to convert to DV. Edit and then burn back to a DVD. I tried other programs but this one was the most flexable and produced the results I was looking for.

Drop2DV 1.0b does the same thing for free. This program is a waste of hard earned money.

Wait. Does it lose the audio track?

I couldn't tell from the list of included features.

$40 for converting from MPEG to DV-and ONLY from MPEG, not from any other format? You've GOT to be kidding me!
