Manage a space community.

Overview

Save the Colony! Your staff are brawling, the Harvester Robot is chain sawing its way through the oxygen supply and small furry aliens have taken over the disco. This is home.

Each unique personality has a mind of its own so remember happy colonists make for productive colonists. Ignore them and they'll pick fights, argue, get depressed, and eventually go crazy. Nurture them and they will work hard for you, become friends and maybe even fall in love!

With over 100 buildings at your disposal, it's up to you to build a colony that meets all the colonists' needs and keeps them safe and happy. So before you shell out all your credits on iron extraction and space chicken productions to bring in the cash, remember, that without a gym, a sauna or a half decent restaurant, nobody's going to want to work for you.

Features include:

  • Manage Your Space Community-Over 20 unique personalities. They brawl, argue, get depressed, go crazy and fall in love.
  • Contend With 20 Alien Species-They hunt, socialize and get on with their weird and varied daily lives. But be ready to allocate power to your force fields as they may turn their eyes on you.
  • Choose Your Properties-Use the many robots and androids at your disposal to establish profitable extraction industries and hi-tech factories...so you can spend more time at the slot machines.

As a demo this is a good download. Gives a good feel of what the game would be like, appears to be stable and runs just fine (800Hz G4 OS10.2.8). The game itself is sort of half way between disfunctional "Sims" in space and "SimCity" on the moon. With a bit of alien "shoot'm up" just to spice things up. I feel that they probably losing some in trying to tailor the game to so many different players. Helping disfunctional sims find love and battling aliens bugs maybe just too much for a single game. From a geek perspective, the software appear to be just a port of a window program (lots and lots of small files, especially sound [.wav] files) and makes one fear that a larger full function game MIGHT not be as smooth or as stable as this demo.

Nice demo. I didnt expect to get much game play however, there were many levels to play through. I would like to see screen resolutions available for the 20 inch screen. Overalll nice graphics @ 1280 x 1024 but only covered just over half of my 20 inch. Game is nice and stable.

Maybe i'll see what it looks like sometime, but there's some sort of snafu. I ran the installer and though not very large, it cranked away for about 10 minutes and was only halfway finished. Then it died and reported it was out of memory! G4 QuickSilver under 10.3.4 with 1 GB RAM.

This demo was a heck of a lot of fun! I will probably buy this one. It is kind of a cross between Tropico and the Sims with a tiny taste of Starcraft too. Too bad you can't rotate your point of view, that may be a real problem in the full game. Also the characters use foul language - maybe I'm the last person in the world who is bothered by this. It looks like you can't create your own characters either, basically you have to go with the characters the game gives you. If you like the Sims or Sim-style building games, this is certainly worthy of your downloading time.

Graphics are good, play is smooth. However, the game hangs after a few minutes of play and doesn't restart (MacOS 10.3.4, dual 1.25 G4).

The game hangs for me after only a few minutes of play. Other than that, it is exciting and keeps your attention. The graphics are crisp and clean. The tutorial is cool. Hopfully they'll fix the mac demo soon. I'm not going to buy the full version if the demo crashes. Who know what the full version will do. (Or how much space it'll consume.)

Oh I forgot to mention, I'm on Mac OS 10.8 with 768mhrz, and 9 gigs of free space. I don't see any pattern, so I have no clue what is causing it to hang. The first time I played it, it didnt crash at all. So I might just try a reinstall and see if that helps.
