Backup prefs files and settings in Final Cut Pro.

Overview

FCP Rescue... Instant backup, restore and removal of Apple Final Cut Pro's preference files using this small utility that helps you if Final Cut Pro crashes and corrupts its preference files. Also very useful if other editors use your login, and you want to be able to go back to YOUR settings afterwards. Very simple interface. One backup per user login. Trashing and restore, affects ONLY the current logged in user.

The backup includes ALL FCP settings, including:

  • User preferences
  • Audio/Video settings
  • System settings
  • Windowsettings
  • Keyboard setup
  • Easy setups

This application is really a daily helper. Once your made your personal settings in FCP - hurry up and backup the easy way with FCP RESCUE. Soon, when FCP is acting norty and corrupts your prefs file (Which it does pretty often) you just restore all your settings with FCP RESCUE. Its easy, its helpfull and its for sure done by a person who knows FCP and its artifacts very well. Only thing to critize is FCP - because software like FCP RESCUE should not be necessary to use if FCP was programmed well. But now when it isnt, FCP RESCUE comes in very handy. More like this...

Crashes with Mac OS X 10.5.1 on startup. Very unfortunate since its great application. Hopefully there will be update for Leopard compatibility.

Rescue 5 was a great product running in Tiger but sadly doesn't seem to run under Leopard. "Unexpectedly crashes" everytime I try to start it. Anyone else had this experience?

Yep. This is an excellent tool, and if it's not to be part of FCP then it should come bundled with it. Saved my bacon on more than one occasion...

This program is amazing. It easily backs up your FCP Prefs and lets you restore them from a good state. It is quick and easy, and works perfectly, my only complaint is that it should be built into FCP itself.
