My kid helped someone set up their webpage - which had 'some' for-profit sections on in. She invested almost a week of her time, on the premise that she'd get a 'free' membership. Only to find out the 'rules' had been changed to - have a 'chance to win' a free membership.

I understand how developers that are starting out don't have money to offer - for any help the they get from the community. But...

Anyway, I got pissy. Sorry. I hope you can give a copy to 'everyone' that DOES help.

So. 'Thousands' of folks beta test - your for profit product - for you, for free, enabling them to earn a chance to 'win' a copy - which is ultimately only offered to a select few - who you choose as worthy.

Uh, huh.

'Boggle 1.0.1' - 100% free.
'Nonplus 0.2' - 100% free.
It's users don't have to degrade themselves.

Tough decision.

Although it does not have a lot of features, this game is quite addicting and playable as a beta version if you enjoy word games. So you "help" the programmer by playing a game--that's everyone's big complaint? Wish I had your problems. Why obsess over whether or not you have to purchase it later? Ah, but this is the generation that wants everything for nothing. We want musicians to make music and we download it for free; writers to write and we copy their words without attitribution; and computer engineers to create flawfless games, jam-packed with features, and then just give them to us.

This game is VERY addicting VERY fast. It's almost 1:30 am and I should have shut down a long time ago.

I didn't find any bugs to report (and I wish I had, to get a complimentary game). I cannot believe how long I sat here playing this, trying to beat my best score.

Although the features are minimum (hey, it's beta!), I gave the rest of the ratings a great score. Stability is great and the playability is addicting. I guess graphics and sound will be added later, but it's a lot of fun as is.

wurdz*, a new word game exclusively for Mac OS X features two great modes of play - *classic and *switch.

*classic - Fans of Boggle will enjoy this mode. Find as many wurdz of three letters or more as you can in the three minute limit. Letters can be connected in any direction - simply find a word and press the checkmark. If the word is valid and hasn't been already used, it will appear in the word list and points will be added to your score. The bigger the word, the higher the points. Uncommon letters (such as 'z' or 'qu') will also help to increase your score. Watch the timer carefully - when all the lights go out, the game is over!

*switch - At first glance, *switch might seem a little easy. The same rules as *classic apply, except now, there is no time limit. There is a catch, however... when you submit a word, the letters used by that word are switched with new ones.
