Quickly view any resource within an icon.

Overview

This Carbon application is a quick and easy way to view any and all resources contained within a Mac desktop icon. Simply drag and drop the icon onto IconViewer and a small inspector window appears that allows you to browse the various sizes and bit depths of that icon. Very helpful for people running pre-OS X systems, but who want to view the 128x128 resources contained in a particular icon file.

Does what is says it will. Shows lots of useful info about Mac icons. However, it doesn't support drag and drop so it's really annoying to use, so it is only moderately useful unless you have lots of time on your hands. - Maclectic

I just realize it says it supports drag and drop, but it didn't work for me running it under OS X 10.2.x. Perhaps drag and drop works under OS 9...

It does support drag and drop in OS X, and it _does_ work for me... using 10.3.2, natch.
