If you wish to quit BelchX, simply open up a Terminal window and type:

killall QUIT "Belch"

If that doesn't work, simply choose "Log Out" from the Apple menu, then log back in.

To replace the sound file with one of your own choosing (must be aif format and be named Belch.aiff) simply open the package with the contextual menu "Show Package Contents" in the Finder (control click on the app icon), navigate to the Resources folder and replace the sound file before loading the app into memory. So, no more whining about how there is no Fart.app program with which to astound your friends!

I remember using the syst 7 version on a teachers machine in grade school... she had no clue on how to work her machine and actually called the schools network admin complaining that her computer was burping and she couldn't stop it... it was classic!

Come on people it's nostalgic good clean fun! Yes it is pretty mindless and useless, but that is exactly the point. Install it on a friends computer - preferably someone who is rather clueless about computers in general. Thanks for a bit of the past. Now all we need is Oscar the Grouch to pop out of the OSX Dock Trash bin, singing "I love trash, I love it because it's trash", and I will be ALL set!! ; )

Come on, not everything has to be a productivity wonder. Do you have friends? Put this on their computer while they're away. It's fun.

Fun - providing enjoyment; pleasantly entertaining. (WordNet)
