PDF2Office overview

PDF2Office is a comprehensive PDF document conversion and data extraction tool.

PDF2Office integrates seamlessly with Microsoft® Word, allowing you to directly open PDF documents within Microsoft® Word.

PDF2Office provides options for converting a range of pages in a PDF document into popular word processing formats as well as image types such as JPEG, Photoshop, PNG and TIFF. Furthermore, it offers the capability to extract images from specific pages within a PDF document.

Horrible at best....once it says it converted the pdf to word...try and find the converted file...you can;t and FAQ give you no clue where the file was sent. The geeks who designed this software flunked Logic in College if they ever went.

I had the same problems with this for complex documents and had it occasionally would not export. Sorry folks, not ready for prime time. If you're willing to spend this kind of money try ReadIRIS Pro. It is an OCR program for scanning text but also converts PDFs to RTF or plain text. It is very accurate, if not fast. Download the demo, give your email address and wait for their special promo pricing before you buy. You might save $50. If you just want the text out of a PDF for reading on a Palm, try the free PDF2RTFService from . Sorry, no tables or images. Highlight the text, choose Services from the Application Menu and select PDF2RTF. Save the resulting file and you're ready to convert it to a pdb.

v2.1 is not good at converting simple tables or spreadsheets. In fact, I resorted to manually re-entering the values and formatting as it was so jumbled.

Utter Crap! Saw this at the SF MacWorld Convention (2005). Spoke with the developers and they seemed to make it work on the showroom floor. Was about to buy but hesitated due to the price (I only needed to convert 5 documents at the time). I now have several dozen e-books in pdf format that I'd like to convert to html so i can process them in iSilo for reading on my palm. Downloaded this software (despite the warnings in the reviews) to try it out. I WAS NOT ABLE TO CONVERT ANY OF MY PDF FILES. I tried all the export formats possible. I even would have settled for a plain text conversion but no such luck. A dialog box would say i got a successful conversion and I would get a new document but on opening the document, it would be empty. I've been looking for an affordable pdf -> rtf/html application for a long time. It seems there is none out there. I'd even "shudder" use a windows app if there was one but I don't know of any.....

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS!!! This is probably the single most horrible, overpriced, and quirky app that has ever been on MacUpdate! I have never used anything worse from this site, this is truly a shame! It will also mess around with your system, like insert itself in the Dock, I truly feel invaded. Do not waste the time or bandwidth downloading this shame.

Ok I upgraded to 2.0 and ran a few pdf files through it for a .doc conversion. The simpler pdf files came through ok with formatting intact for the most part. My sucess rate went down noteably through with more complex pdf files, so be warned! The software is a little overpriced in my opinion, especially since I have shelled out $$$ for 1.1 and 2.0 and still cannot convert my more diffcult pdf forms right. Still, I guess it could come in useful for smaller and easier conversions.

The preceding comment is incorrect. The Stone apps charge money for what you can already do yourself - create a pdf of a document. The stone apps DO NOT create editable documents FROM pdf.
