The display of Chinese characters in iTunes is always broken, especially after you have imported some mp3 files downloaded from internet. This small application can convert mp3 files to a correct encoding setting so iTunes can handle the Chinese tags info with in the files. At the mean time, it can only handle Chinese encodings ( GB & Big5 ), if you are facing the same problem with other languages, please let me know, I will try to add those support to the future version.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.2 or later

You can try Chinese Rewriter if you need batch processing.

i use this app and i like it. batch processing would be nice. (chinese rewriter requires you to pay after 15 days) drag and drop support would be nice too.

This is the program I've been waiting for for a long time, since I converted to Mac.
I'll pay $20 if the new version will support batch process.

The iTunes for Windows can do this job pretty well. Just use it to upgrade the tags to version 2.2 or higher.

Thanks, Bran.

Why I haven't make a batch feature is chinese characters in the tag file is too little to be determine the encoding automatically.

However, I will add the drag and drop support in the future version. ( Actually, if you fetch the source tarball from: http://vip.sinomac.net/jeff/other/id3tagv2_source.tar.gz, and build it yourself, you will find the feature has been there).

I think you should do the batch convert anyways. Since I have a lot of MP3's that I migrated from my PC and I know what encoding they are all in.

Drag and drop would be nice.

btw that link for the source code doesn't work.
