Emailer made with newsletters in mind.

Overview

NewsLetter is a free batch emailer, speciallly designed for newsletters. Its interface is very simple and intuitive, and it features the creation of plain text, HTML and multipart messages, customization of subject and body using "smart tags" and attachments (including inline attachments). Other features are output MBOX files (open-able in Mail, Entourage or any other capable email client), integration with FileMaker, Address Book and Entourage, and capability to send the messages through Entourage (or simply place the messages at its Outbox folder).

NewsLetter is powered by XMail.osax, so it is compatible with any SMTP server (along with the mentioned features).

What's new in NewsLetter

Version 2.8.2:
  • Fixed bug introduced in 2.8.1 regarding the "Send to Entourage" buttons
  • Updated documentation regarding the "Create MBOX file" menu item

Ok, I love this software. A client wanted me to send out her newsletter, with links, images, all that html stuff -- but I can barely do web pages (once upon a time, I was a happy print-based graphic artist - sheesh - not everyone loves technology, but life goes on). With NewsLetter 2.1, and not much of a learning curve at all (it has one GREAT HELP FEATURE), I was able to send out a lovely html newsletter PERFECTLY. I thought I would lose a client over not being able to do the newsletter. If I could, I'd hug the developer!

Seems to work with OS X 10.6.8, although last update is of 2009/05 ... I use it to send HTML test emails (coding tests) to different email clients and want to be sure that nothing is changed with the code during sending (like it could be in Thunderbird for example!) - this works fine. But I had a problem with the plain text part in Apple Mail 4.6 (only the HTML part is shown), but it works in Thunderbird v17! Perhaps something wrong with the multipart coding? And I had problems with longer subject lines – mail was send but the receiving mail was complete mashed up (chaos in subject line and mail display). So there seem to be some glitches ... use with caution ...

Just downloaded Newsletter 2.8.2. Having a problem w/ set up as I'm trying to send a test to myself and keep getting a note saying Failed and check the Log. Using it with Mac Mail. In the Preferences for Newsletter under SMTP do I put my SMTP outgoing address in there? My incoming mail is a POP account. Thanks for the help.

It's just great - I had some problems with the stability of previous releases, but with the 2.6.1 release sending out a mailing to 1000+ users works like a breeze! And it's free - unbelievable. I've donated via PayPal anyway, since it's helped me a lot sending out mailings to our customers.

Great utility, the only problem I have found is that the preview comes up with a blank page. About time, been looking for something like this for yonks (that's Aussie for a long time).

Cool program, just what I needed, alas -- it crashed several times when I sent about 400 mails .. else perfect! Um.. maybe just some way to review all recipients (not just scrolling up/down in the editfield)

Nice - does what it says. Many may need a more sophisticated app, but this does it for me with no hassles. Easy to use, stable and free! Thanks

This is exactly what I've been looking for. And it worked flawlessly for me in a small test. Simple interface and simple to use. There are many features I have not yet tried but look forward to using. Thank you to the developer! Having a better log would be nice. I noticed, for instance, that the log did show errors (I had set the login method of my smpt server incorrectly in the preferences) BUT the log showed nothing on a succesful e-mail. It would be nice if the log maintained all messages that occur in a session rather than deleting or overwriting the previous log entry, and it would be nice if it logged successes as well as failures. Thanks again, and keep up the good work.

If you open the app in a OS which is not Panther, it will crash (that's because OS 10.3.x is a requirement...)

Oh no! Yet ANOTHER batch mailer app. *sigh* Even if this one is designed to do 'newsletters' what keeps a spammer from using it for spam? Aren't there already enough batch mailer apps with a lot more features? And why would someone want to use a commercial mailer app if he can get all the spam features for free with php or perl? Questions questions questions... RIP batchmailers...
