Portrait is a virtual picture frame for your desktop. To use it, just drag a picture from the finder, safari, or any other drag-and-drop enabled application and drop it inside Portrait's frame. You can then set up the portion of your picture you'd like framed, and even change the style of your frame.

Simple enough without any performance problems I could find. Available frames, however, are 'tacky' to the extreme.
Something simple and contemporary or minimal could, instead, be useful and fill a need. It would also be more mac-like.
All in all, a good application. A few more (smaller) frames would be a nice addition, although the ones included are quite attractive. Additionally, a feature to cycle through a folder of pictures with a sort of fade transition would be absolutely wonderful.
