When Netscape Communicator exports LDIF files, it doesn't handle hard line breaks within the notes section properly. This causes the files to not be imported properly by Address Book. This program fixes that.
It should work in both OS X and OS 9. Double-click to launch the application and select an LDIF file to fix. Alternatively, just drop an LDIF file or a folder containing LDIF files on the application and it will ask where you want to save each file. It makes a copy of the file, so I'm fairly certain no corruption is possible. Still, you should work with a copy of the LDIF file just in case. I can't and won't be held responsible if something horrible goes wrong. But do let me know if it does, so I can figure out what happened and why. And maybe be able to repair the damage.
