I've tried this also, with the same results you all are experiencing. I've yet to hear from the developer.

In the meantime, try iPodRip. It gives you a system-wide iPod menu, plus a menu-bar controller. And the developers have always answered any of my e-mails within 24 hours, often sooner.

Note: As of Dec. 12, there's apparently a bug fix needed for iPodRip and 10.3.6. You can ctrl-click the iPodRip menu bar feature to see the playlists, but it won't respond to right-click. Nonetheless, the developers told me they're working on it, so give this one a try instead. It's worked well for me.

I, too, tried it, with no luck. I get the icon, but all I get with it is a spinning beach ball. I did find a contact link on their web page and just wrote to them. If they reply, I'll post information here.

Ya, I wanted this feature, also. I currently use M-Beat, but it won't show iPod playlists. I wrote to the developer, who seems reluctant to incorporate an iPod playlist feature. (M-Beat will control my iPod via previous track, next track, etc., but it won't give me the playlist options. I like to keep my drive clean and simply play my iPod music through my laptop rather than store song files on my main drive.)

Anyone know of a menubar program that does allow me to select iPod songs? Haven't found anything other than this non-working PodStat.

Useless. Doesn't launch with iPod connected. If you launch PodCrap first and then connect iPod, it won't be recognised

Needs work. As below this app does not lauch if the iPod is connected; if it is not connected, then it launches and doesn't recognize the iPod even when re-docked. Quality control???
