I don't mean to sound like a jerk but why are you charging for this. The only thing that people are paying for is an installer that you made. I won't give away the secret to making your own slideshows like his for those who don't know how to do it so someone might buy it from you but come on dude.

Just go to Google.com, click on images, type in "New York" and collect some great photos for a screensaver. :)

As another poster said, it is easy to make a screensaver. I live in New York city, maybe I will make a screensaver and distribute it for free. Heck maybe I'll take the same pictures from the exact same angles and then post a link to the screensaver here in the reviews. How do like them apples? Either you give it away for free or I will put you out of business. muahahahahahaha

There are two types of people in this world. People that are from NY and people that wish they were. We can see what category you fall in!

WOW! Well, what can I say? Some people are saying its not worth paying for because its not hard to make a screen saver........but I am from the UK and have no chance of getting pictures like this unless I pay out for a plane ticket, but at a fraction of the price.......I can get 75 images of new york! just because you live in america near NY, you assume others wont pay for it. Just think about all the people that dont live near NY. The pictures are very good and the angles are great, well done. I had no problems installing thanks to the icon telling you where to install it. Great work!

Great pictures, from a very talented artist. I'd like to see more Brooklyn (Botanical Gardens in particular?) as this seems heavily focused on the least interesting part of New York, Manhattan.

EXCELLENT PHOTOGRAPHS! The artist has talent and vision. Having lived in New York for 8 years, I truly believe that seeing the pictures has made me reminisce enough to want to go back for a visit!

The problem with screensavers is that they are really purely cosmetic and by their nature not seen much. Nice to have but one can't often justify paying for them - and there are plenty of free ones available with many features, promotional items etc. So for the author, who is right to charge for his time and I'm sure his photos are unique, he will struggle with this particular method- i'd be interested in the statistics!

If it was something like Marine Aquarium, I would be happy to hand over the money. This screen saver, however, isn't that complicated and anyone can make one. Nice try.

What's the scandal here? Honest work, very reasonable fee, and best of all, users like me get to enjoy all the good memories of New York City. People spend $9 - $10 for a movie ticket easily. $10 for a screen saver that will bring a lot of viewing pleasure is not a huge deal.

animosity. perhaps... whatever, as you deservedly pointed out, you went to some effort to capture the moments yourself on film, or so i think you said. and thus are due some recompense. but, having said all that, a screensaver should be free... or at least very close to free. whatever.

So much animosity! Yes, anyone can make a screensaver. But doing so takes time and I think it is reasonable for people to try to be compensated for their time. These are not photographs which I simply pulled off the web, but rather ones which I took myself. So think of it as compensating me for the time it required to take all of the pictures and select all of the ones that I thought were a good representation of New York. Many photographers try to sell their work in one form or another. I don't see why a screensaver is not an allowable medium. Perhaps it is better to think of it as buying 75 photographs of New York to view, and it just happens to come packaged in a screensaver. So far there have only been comments about the philosopyy of charging for a screensaver. But did any of you like the photographs?
