I am a 15 year old, and I have been playing AMOT scence I was a young boy (about 4-5). Me my Sister and my Dad used to play it all the time when I was young. I just recently beat this game after 10 years of playing it. I wasn't playing it all day every day but I daid play it a fare amount. I am the only peson out of my sister, dad and myself that beat the game. B&W dosen't change a game. Color can only improve it. If a game is good in color it would be good in B&W. A good B&W becomes better when it is colorized. This game is definatly chalenging but addicting. One tip, save often because you might be killed!

I recently rediscovered the Ray's Maze games, which I used to play occasionally when I was a kid, and I have gotten totally hooked again. I don't care about the old B&W graphics -- it's the content of the game that makes it so addictive. (I definitely believe that whoever created the "Silent Hill" games was inspired by Ray's Maze.) If you're not interested in shoot 'em up games but prefer something with intricate subplots and mysteries that requires you to think and explore, you will love this game.

Mess of Trouble is a totally amazing game. The black & white graphics are of such professional quality that you'll forget they aren't color. They are drawn in full 3D perspective without any noticable flaws. Huge multi-layered overlapping puzzles set in 5 diverse worlds: Explore the abandoned ruins and mine shafts of a ghost town. Save the Void from a deadly enemy. Discover the magic of the Enchanted Forrest. Solve the mystery of the ancient towers in Monolith Valley. Escape from the mysterious Isle of Lucy. This game is a must-have for adventure lovers. It will keep you spell-bound for months on end. Don't forget to check out Ray Dunikan's other great adventure games which all consistantly meet the same standard of professional quality in all aspects. P.S. Mac OS X users: I strongly recomend the Mini vMac emulator for maximum compatibility with sound (and speed too when the emu's speed limiter is enabled).

This is a fabulous game, with all its twists and multiple layers. The game constantly changes as you play it. If you make a decision about which way to go, the game adapts and changes as you make decisions. I played Another Fine Mess first and am now playing A Mess O Trouble. I started AFM without any tips from the creator, Ray Dunakin, but finally paid the $10 shareware fee and got the tips in the mail. I would advise anyone playing the game to pay the shareware fee. You get four full pages of tips and maps and it will save you hours of frustration. Also once you pay the shareware you can e-mail Ray and ask questions and usually he will send back a response within 24 hours. This does not in anyway diminish the adventure of the game, but actually adds to it, since getting stuck in one world or another and not knowing how to get out, can make most people just give up. The graphics on the game are really amazing for the year it was created. I have been able to play the 1.8 version game using Mac OS 9.1, but you have to give the file extra memory and adjust your extensions to accomodate the program. There are tips on the Ray's Maze page about that.

An excellent game that is still played despite it's date, an absolute must for any puzzle gamer. I still like the dated graphics myself.

I really do like the game a lot even though it's fairly old and in B&W. However I REALLY need to find hints on how to get past the Voidbeast/Techtron scenario and obtain the last letter required to finish the game. When I say "letter" players of the game should know what I'm talking about. if you have any tips or know some site that does, e-mail me at vid_boi_@hotmail.com

A wonderful game. I used to play this about 5 years ago and recently re-discovered it. Sounds only work with pre OS 9 systems, as far as I know. Although the game is very aged, and a bit of a throwback, there's at least 20 or 30 hours of gameplay. And if you get stuck, sometimes you can solve your problem by looking at the code in Res-Edit. Not that I would ever do that...

I LOVE this game! I have a copy of it on my PowerBook 180, I just love to play it. For those who have trouble in the beginning, grab the BEAM (a wooden one) and use that to grab the rope, tie the rope to the wooden rod that's holding the cave in place, and pull it, go thru the hole. There you go!! The beginning is hard, but you have to think to win this game. GREAT graphics for just black and white!!!

A fun adventure through a variety of surreal worlds. Challenging puzzles, hillarious puns, and a healthy dose of political commentary. Just as you think its about to end, the adventure continues. Much better than Myst.

This game is pretty cool, despite age and crusty graphics. Once you've gotten past the stupid annoying cave section at the start, you'll find a MASSIVE, engrossing game that will let you suck yourself into it. It's also really stable, apart from the sound, but don't let that stop you. Go and kill that Leech Queen! Go and find The Protector! Follow Three Fingered Willie's traps and trips! Great stuff.
