I work on high-end corporate meetings and PhotoPresenter is one of my most valuable tools. At a recent global event the client wanted four "slick" videos using POS materials and logos, etc. - overnight. We picked out some of themes, dropped the images in and had them done PDQ with little work in FinalCut. There is much more to image-driven presentations than dissolves, pans and zooms. Of course there are other programs that offer more control, but this one is fast and easy. All we want are more themes.

Bought this program while it was on sale. Not even worth the $10.95 that I paid. The program has very few slideshow designs, and those are not very impressive.

From the developer website: "Update from PhotoPresenter 3.4 to PhotoPresenter 4.x is free of charge for all customers that bought PhotoPresenter 3.4 from Boinx Software." I guess those who bought the application from any other site (such as MacUpdate Promo) will need to pay for this update.

I have just downloaded and installed this application and purchased a Licence Key. To date, however, it has completely failed to display any sllde-show at all of my photos, despite repeated attempts. All it does when I press the "Play" button is turn my screen completely black and then crash, with the "Application Quit Unexpectedly" pop-up message appearing. Not at all inspiring. Have I just blown my AUD $25.00 ? Seems so. I am using an iMac7,1 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, running OSX Leopard 10.5.4.

Obviously, the developers of PhotoPresenter sold there software to Boinx. Before that, the price of PhotoPresenter was at 8 $, now it's at 20 $. I just bought this app a few days ago.I would like the new developers to explain me what caused this huge increase in price.

I buy software that gives me something I want. PhotoPresenter did this. But then Apple upgraded their system software which broke PhotoPresenter. Has PP been fixed? No. Was it a waste of money? Yes. This is the main reason I stopped buying some shareware programs. They aren't supported when Apple updates their system software. I used to give a chance on something I liked. But not anymore.

First, PhotoPresenter is truly a Mac bargain. Second, Simon the developer, is wonderful to work with. I had an issue whereby PhotoPresenter was not showing all my iPhoto events, and Simon helped me through it by discovering that the error was on my end with iPhoto picking up a backed-up iPhoto library on another hard drive versus where it should have been. PhotoPresenter is simply one of the best means of viewing your photo library. My entire family enjoys using and viewing it. With the holiday season upon us, I am sure that it will be the most popular Mac app on my Mac.

Mmm, not sure about this one. It produces a scrambled order of images from Aperture and on my MacBookPro has crashed routinely which is something that shouldn't happen AT ALL with apps in OSX. I did get it as part of the MacUpdate bundle but am disappointed as it was a great way to access slideshows without firing up anything more than itself.

Before I bought the full version, I could have sworn that I could save a slide show as a screen saver. Now I don't see that option. Can anyone help?

When I got this on MUPromo bundle, I didn't bother installing it - didn't look like anything useful. A week later, I installed it. Anyone who has ever installed devtools knows that Quartz Composer can do beautiful things. PhotoPresenter exploits this to the max making those effects available to anyone. If I could give a rating of 6 stars, I would! I had to make a screensaver for my company and was halfway through it when I installed this. Ten minutes later, I had a fantastic saver. EXCELLENT!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the issue I had with adding sound to my slideshow is fixed thanks to the developers reply to my email (thanks again). The issue was that my iTunes Library is not in the default location and thus needed to change that in the prefs. all is well now

The transitions look fine but I'm not able to add music. When the music dialog box comes up it is empty. When I press the play button, the app says it needs to launch iTunes I tell it to do so but it doesn't. Manually opening iTunes doesn't help as the list of songs to select is blank.... suggestions

For $8 it's hard to argue with the value here. Basically, this program adds a few animated slideshow themes that you don't get with iPhoto or iDVD. Nothing really groundbreaking, but if you want a bit of extra choice in how your photo slideshows look, then it's worth the price of admission.

Wow, I'm amazed at what this tool can do for only $8. There are so many options for slideshows and you can select an iTunes playlist for music to play in the background. Very easy to use and does its job very well.

I got this app with the MU Promo bundle. I had never heard of it. 2 minutes after launching it, I realized that I picked up an amazing piece of software. I would be dazzled for a few minutes with the various slideshows styles, if that was all it did. The fact that there are numerous ways to export the slideshows makes this app amazing and useful in so many ways. The screen saver export was great to see, can't wait to play around with it. The animated slideshow options are very cool and very slick. I can already see myself creating short little slideshows to export and add into other movies. Much, much easier to create a photo DVD than iMovie/iDVD. The fact that I got this unexpected as part of the MU Promo makes it an amazing value.

Awesome little application that makes watching your photos more fun than ever. Pictures from your iPhoto or Aperture Library can be used as well as pluged-in usb devices like photo cameras or memory sticks. There are about 25 special quartz-based animations that are absoludely eye-candy. It's possible to export your slideshows to quicktime, iPod, iWeb, iDvd and (most of the animations) as screensavers. It's worth far more than 8$.. but that's the price you have to pay for it ;)

If the registration information (e.g. from the MacUpdate Bundle) is not accepted, make sure that you enter both THE NAME AND THE SERIAL NUMBER EXACTLY AS INDICATED. PhotoPresenter tries to help you by displaying a clear message why the registration information is not valid. Also, read the "Registration Instructions" in the MacUpdate Bundle email. Thank you! :-)

I just bought vesion 2.5, testing it with my g4 powerbook and g5 imac.As before, library opens up quickly, but since iphoto 6 has improved greatly, the contest for speed is a draw at best. The animated slide show works and that is a winner. But when tried to export animated slide show, the only one that works is the ken burn effect, the others hanged forever with bad access/kern problem. So iphoto 6 wins there for that department .

Really attractive - but seems to be using a lot of memory when opened, all other applications froze on my iMac G4 with Tiger. I had no other choice than to uninstall it. However, once this problem could be solved, I might definitely consider testing it again and buying it.

iPhoto 4 has a very big disadance not supporting manual dia shows switching to the next image without showing this ugly play/pause images on the screen. It would be nice if a next version of this sw would provide manual dia shows.

Incorrectly listed as free. As soon as you fire it up it asks for registration information. Shareware fee is $8. Not a problem with the program just the way it is listed. :-)
