Overview

The essence of NeXT's Digital Librarian re-implemented using Cocoa and running on Mac OS X. MTLibrarian is an indexing and retrieval system for text and documents which allows you to create custom groups of documents which are keyword searchable. MTLibrarian is currently able to index and search text, HTML and PDF documents, with more formats coming in the future.

What's new in MTLibrarian

Rewritten to take advantage of Technologies native to Mac OS 10.3, version 1.5 of MTLibrarian contains improvements such as:
  • A new search engine. (Search Kit)
  • Improved PDF Indexing
  • Native PDF viewing
  • Multiple search types
  • Numerous bug fixes

Most helpful

At first I thought this would be very promising to search my collection of downloaded pdf articles. It doesn't seem to be able to searc the pdf content.

v. 1.5 Works brilliantly in 10.3.3. I mostly use it to search folders full of documents in various formats (.doc, .rtf, .html, .pdf, .txt, etc.) and it's fast. I indexed a network folder residing on a w2k machine, and use it across the network, too. It hasn't crashed yet.

Crashes for me every time upon opening. 10.2.8 is my OS.
