Big props to Aspyr for updating this game! This was and is one of the most original FPS games ever released. Interesting plot development, beautiful and quirky graphics, insanely cool weapons. It's dark and somewhat brutal without being gory and gratuitous.

If only MacPlay would update Giants (which I haven't been able to get to work on newer computers for years), you'd be looking at two of the best Mac FPS games brought to life.

Glad to see a developer update an older game. More developers should do this for their titles that are obviously still played and have a fan base.

Great update for such a beautiful and original game. Still, with the standard UI, you can't play fullscreen with your iMac core duo : 1440 X 900 isn't an option. But you can edit the .cfg file and fix it. (The .cfg file is the one you find in : user/library/Application Support/American McGee's Alice/base)

--Open it with TextEdit

--go to

seta r_mode "x"

--change the "x" value for -1

--copy and paste

seta r_customWidth "1440"
seta r_customHeight "900"

-- at the beginning of the "seta" list of vars and you're done!

Enjoy!

This is a classic game. Good to see a UB update. Seven years old with a UB update, software devs take heed of a professional.

The sound is all messed up. At 44khz there is all this static on it. At 22khz the sounds play too slow.

Been playing Alice 1.1.2 earlier on my 2.66 GHz Xenon MacPro. When I went to load any of the saved games it crashes a few seconds after the loading starts.

Anyone else experiencing this 'loading' problem?

Undaunted by the diseased ambiance, cavernous confusion, and mortal danger that surrounds her, Alice must undo the chaos. Equipped with courage, a keen appetite for the bizarre, and a lethal array of mischievous toys, she must penetrate the stronghold of her enemies, confront the forces of evil and put the wicked Queen of Hearts in her place.

Alice features stunning third person, 3D action based on enhanced Quake III technology, devious puzzles and labyrinthine mazes and familiar characters transformed. Included levels are reminiscent of the Pool of Tears, the Caterpillar's Garden, the Mad Hatter's Tea Party and more. Enemies include the ferocious Card Guards, demonic Fire Imps, ravenous Jabberspawn and more. The original soundtrack is composed and arranged by Chris Vrenna, award winning artist and founding member of Nine Inch Nails.
