Remake of the classic game.

Overview

This is the newest remake of the classic 8-bit isometric 3D adventure game Head Over Heels. It took us 2 years to complete it and we hope you like it!

Head Over Heels was released, um, a while ago. Around about 1987 if I recall correctly, and it was immediately praised in the press as being quite the bestest thing ever. Not only was it a huge game for its time, it also had great graphics and was very addictive - if somewhat punishing in its difficulty level. The variety in the locations was amazing and the challenges brilliantly designed. Quite rightly it was awarded with pretty much every accolade that could be bestowed upon it by the various magazines. Even today it still stands as a brilliantly designed title and has never really been bettered in the isometric adventure genre.

Loved this game on the C64 (such a loooooooong time ago). Graphics are excellent and overall the finish and polish on this game is excellent. Never actually finished the game though. I do remember I actually got head and heels together at one point but then got stuck. Excellent game. Only tiny gripe is the sound in the game, the in-game guitar riff is a bit too repeditive. There is no squeak or wiggle noise when either head or heels moves and no entry or exit sound when you move from one room to another. Getting to grips with head jumping takes a little effort especially on a keyboard. At the very start where head appears in the game you have to jump up 4 blocks to get the rabbit at the top. If you cannot master this keyboard move better give up now because its required later in the game and it's frustrating as hell. But I love this game and the simple logic required to complete many rooms - Really good non violent game for kids, and big kids who liked this game when they were kids! Good stuff!

This game seems really cool, but if I save a game it isn't there the next time I go back. If I run out of lives, the game crashes, and the reincarnation fish don't seem to work. Any ideas?

A perfect remake of a brilliant spectrum game. Trouble is, having recently played this new version and then the original version, the memory of the brilliant eighties classic kind of loses its appeal!!! Well Done.

Ace game when it was 1st released. Takes me back many years, to a summer school holiday well spent playing this 1st time around! Great to see games like this on the Mac/OSX - MORE PLEASE! How about Sabre Wulf and other pre 'super computer era' games. Get this game and forget about the XBox and PS2 for a while.

Had trouble downloading it, and then the program crashed when I switched to full-screen mode, so I never actually played the game. Force quit seemed to work until I discovered I wasn't able to eject the disk image.... I had to use Process Viewer to quit an HoH process.
