What's New
Version 1.0b2:

Note regarding icons: Icons from random system applications were used for the default locations. These are used without permission and should not be confused with the product itself. Their only purpose in the application is to demonstrate how the icon/image feature may be used. Due to the number of errors and bugs experienced by users in the beta release, this release of Weather Desk b2 comes a little earlier than planned. Satellite images are still not available, but a limited version of the radar feature is now available. This version continues where the first beta left off, and has many interface enhancements. Some of the icons are a little more respectable, but we still haven't dedicated much time to the icons. We'll finish the features first, the icons can wait until the final release. The major addition in this release, along with the radar images, is a significantly enhanced Earth/Moon Viewer. Weather Desk can now automatically set an updated image of the Earth while the menu extra is open. You can also manually set the desktop from the main application. This feature is disabled by default, you can enable it and choose settings from the Preferences window. Several buttons now appear below image views. These have various features, such as opening the home page of the service from which the image is downloaded, viewing the image in Preview, or setting the desktop with the image. Not all of these options are available for each image.

I take it that this app is to remain a beta and never be updated.
It really is a shame because I've looked at just about all of the other weather apps and this one is very, very good.

I tried a few weather programms like this one and, even in beta stage, it proves to be the best of his kind. Works pretty well on my computer, very stable. Promising !

Menu item runs an update OK, but I can't get changes to its appearance to hold. Can't change color, font size, etc. Would like to see radar added to the menu item.

Didn't have any trouble getting to launch, but had problems with the menu item. I had it set to show the icon and temp show in the menu, but only the icon displayed. Only if I clicked on the icon could I see the text for the temp.

Crashes at startup on my TiBook 550. The alpha worked, though. I'd love to use it, though, in particular because of the menu extra--application menu extras (like WeatherPop) can't be moved around (like the Date&Time menu).

Pretty good for a first release. Unlike Meteorologist, it didn't crash on me and I had no problems with the menu bar not updating. I can tell this little app is going to be solid once all the features are implemented.
