Organize text, pictures, movies & sound.

Overview

Note: ClipMasterCM is no longer under development, it is a piece of legacy software.

ClipMasterCM is a solution to a problem of accessing and organizing various bits of frequently used information as text, pictures, movies, sounds, etc. It allows you to save current clipboard content for later pasting. You may collect and organize information snippets and have them available with just one click (control-click or right-click to be precise). Since it is a contextual menu plugin you not need to run a separate application - it does not take any space on your desktop, menu bar or dock.

I'm crying everyday since I've discovered it's not working any more in 10.6... :-( Thanks to the dev for all those years of happiness, using it. :-)

Halleluiah! It looks like I've found the trick! First of all, the new clips created in SL are correct. N.B. : I first thought it was something about 32 bit or 64 bit apps but no… (my guess is that 64 bit apps don’t even use contextual menus, if I understood well) Then, opening the clips in ~/Library/Application Support/Clip Master with TextWrangler (the utxt files), you'll see their encoding at the bottom of TextWrangler's window: the old ones are UTF-16 while the new ones are "UTF-16 Little Indian". Now you dig it? ;-) Open every utxt file there and convert their encoding to the right one. Oh yeah! I’m still new to SL, so I may discover something new… As for 64 bit apps, you can try the app Shortcuts (http://www.abracode.com/free/cmworkshop/) that brings back you favourite contextual menus!

Handy little gadget. The only non-intuitive wrinkle is discovering how to remove clips from the menu. (Hold down the option key while scrolling.)
