Carracho Client X is the first preview of the Cocoa version of Carracho Client. This client is fully compatible to the existing Carracho network. You can connect to Carracho servers, exchange files and communicate with other Carracho users.
What's new in Carracho Client X
Version 1.0PR4: Release notes were unavailable when this listing was updated.
Amazing, nothing like downloading a piece of software and it crashes and burns when you try to launch it. Using an iMac G5 amd OS X 10.4.5.
Carracho, just say no!
crashes in 10.3.9 and 10.4.1 if you try to save a bookmark and even other apps like kdx client won´t open anymore
It never remembers recent visited servers.
The developer should stop developing 1.0b and focuss on X server, tracker and client. Too many people still rely on 1.0b and the compatibility between the two is not great. If you want to get into the servers, you need both versions. Other then that, the best communities are on carracho and carracho to me is the best, always been, always will be.
I think it's one of the best P2P ever made...
It's true that you need to make some contacts first, but then you make some friends and it's the easiest way to get the last Apps you want....
same deal with KDX, although the difference between the two is mainly KDX's Encyption. and its GUI.. Kdx also includes voice chat, dcc,Remote access to your server(View/Control Screen,Open/Terminate Processes) etc.. KDX is the best ,... Great speeds, great people, great community.. Better than Carracho but much like it :)
Seeing as this has turned into a debate on the virtues of the carracho network, I would say THIS...
P2P like Poisoned is for passive, lazy leeching. To make Carracho work for you involves a little work, even a little character. You often have to make contact and chat, or strike up relationships in order to get access, which is slower than Poison or Limewire, but you end up with something more - a community. Carracho is for grown-ups.
Viva Carracho ;-)
Bad application. Confusing. Assbackwards. Non-intuitive.Fonts too big. Can't see which servers allow upload or download since it's not colorcoded anymore. Weird sorting in the tracker window. In file transfer window too much space taken up with doodas and on and on.
What piece of junk!
The latest preview is very promising. Very easy to get around.
Indeed the new interface is much cleaner and actually clever.
labeledonsight, you're not to rate your IQ but the app. Carracho serves many different purposes... Poisened isn't the same thing at all. First and foremost, it lets you share. That means you also *give*.
Ah, and it's *too* not *to*... complicated, ay ?
I had a lot of hassle from PR1 and eventually trashed the app not long after I downloaded it. But PR2 is fantastic, a real evolution in the GUI and better all around. The moderately annoying aspects of the existing Carracho clients (the new window for each public chat, for example) have been revamped and incorporated into a "tabbed" - though just how "tabbed" is not always clear - format. So far it's been stable and a real joy to use.
The most prominent glitch I've noticed is that my 16x16 user icon is currently displaying a fraction of the image. That, and the mouseover for the "download" button on the main window reads "upload." It could be worse.
I completely agree with Scat Wot.. the iconchat is great.. and the thing about the destruct-o-robots.. VººT!
Oh.. and FLYING FLAPPY STRATOS PLANE FROM TEH FUTURE vs TEH WORLD OF TOMORROW! Double VººT!
Wow, great new version, lots of refinement. Startin to kick ass. Love the icons in chat. Screw Hotline, screw KDX, screw yew gaaaz, I'm goin hewwwwwwm!
Oh and one more thing...FLYING DESCTRUCT-O-ROBOTS FROM THE FUTURE OWN J000
It is not very stable on my TiPB400 (as the previous versions are). The GUI is really fine and well organized. How to enter login/password if you want to connect from server's list?
It's great and works fine - as the previous beta did. It looks quite strange to me the comment by the Anonymous about ugliness, problems and so on. Is (s)he talking about the same product?
