Connect to a variety of dialup services.

Overview

AT&T Global Network Client is software that allows you to connect to a variety of dialup services. For example, you can use it to connect to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), or to your company\'s Virtual Private Network (VPN). Using the AT&T Global Network Client interface, you define user and service profiles that can be saved for later use. For more information on creating and managing user and service profiles, use the Help command in the Help menu.

Because we can't access dialup services or VPN already? MacOS X can already do this, just open Internet Connect in your Applications folder. So really, what's the point of this software. I can;t find any info on AT&T's website.

I am new to Mac X but very impressed with it. Many folks in the ofc are switching to MAC X provided we can find a way to VPN from home into our ofc lan . We already have AT&T accts for windows and broadband at Hm. Your comment " Because we can't access dialup services or VPN already? MacOS X can already do this, just open Internet Connect in your Applications folder." as a newbie not sure how to apply it.

From Mac OS Help (built-in to all Mac OS installations): "You can use the Internet Connect application to connect to the Internet using most types of connections. Use the Internet Connect application to dial your Internet service provider (ISP), establish a PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) connection, connect to an AirPort network, open a connection to an 802.1x network, start a session with a Virtual Private Network (VPN), or have your AirPort Base Station connect to the Internet." "To change Internet Connect configuration settings, choose Edit Configurations from the Configuration pop-up menu. If you need help with settings, ask your ISP or network administrator."

Agree with previous comment. i checked out Global Dialer and it is exactly what it says it is. I used it a few times and find it works OK. My guess is that you have had some worm / virus. Get that AV software updated!

This means that I cannot use my dsl connection from home. Does anyone know of a work around? I have tried everything but I'm not having any joy! Yes I phoned AT&T but they no not support mac users using DSL - CRAZY!

What type of computer do you have? Do you actually think that ATT would give you a virus infested dialer? Your machine if a PC was probably infected already. PC=Pretty Crappy.
