@flix21 - Are you actually using it or just advertizing it?

I downloaded this software excited that it would actually work but it won't pick up my controller. I used an afterglow wired controller. X Box doesn't make wired controllers anymore; most of them have gone third party. I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

Try the XBOX360 Controller Driver above, under similar software (or search here on the site). It works great on every controller I've tried.

Well I am so glad I supported this dev by paying for the driver a couple months ago. Granted, it was only $5 or something but to have it go free now just seems like I wasted my money. Oh well.

I can't seem to get my XBOX controller to work with MacMAME or MAME OS X. Is it compatible? Also, NANNASSY, I couldn't find a 360 driver here, but there is one at Versiontracker.com. (Too bad I don't have a 360 controller!)

Jim Ribs is just plain incorrect. Check out the XBox 360 Controller Driver which has an entry in macupdate.

Awesome, now I can get carpal tunnel faster! No longer must I only subject myself to the awful design of the glorified penis extension known as the XBox controller when I play Halo 2. Disability check here I come!

I agree, paying for drivers is absurd. The hardware should "just work" I already paid for it why should I pay again because the company is to lazy to properly implement drivers? People pay for hardware, no one buys software, and even less people buy drivers.

If you were talking about a Logitech Mouse, then I would agree wholeheartedly, however we are talking about hardware designed specifically designed for the Xbox, and built (by design) to be totally incompatible. MS don't want you to use this on your Mac, surely this is obvious!

Umar: I've been playing Halo with an XBox controller (duh) since its inception, and I destroy everybody. If the driver is sound I'm sure I'll be fine against anybody with or without a mouse. (When you reach a level where you can kill anybody with the minimum shots required for whatever weapon, your reflexes are good enough to compensate for lack of mouse.)

The computer versions and XBox versions are different in difficulty because of how much more difficult it is to aim with a gamepad- so they made the pc version harder... sorry, thought that was common knowledge...

USB adaptor (you COULD'VE RTFM, too): www.lik-sang.com, there's adaptors for different systems, but apparently only the XBox controller has someone working on HID drivers. Oh, Acrappiness, you play online with a pad against mouse/keyboard players and you WILL have your ass handed to you- believe me, I've been playing for years, gamepad players are usually shit last.

This is awesome, except I'm not particularly a fan of the XBox controller. It worked fairly well, no crashes or anything. Did I understand correctly that the XBox DVD controller could be used too? Anyone have any idea if these exist for the CameCube or PS2 controllers? (and are there adapters?). Email any reply please.

They logitech and other game pad makers are making ps2 style contollers already, and i havent seen one that looks like an xbox control. so thats why this adaptation is cool especially for us mac users.

This sounds like a great idea. When Halo comes out for the Mac, I'll pick it up and an adaptor so that I can play online with Xbox-controlling goodness.
