You serious? $150 commercial software for such a small task (poorly implemented in this packge) that you could probably do with a simple AppleScript? This is ridiculous.

learn from my mistake. 10.6 is NOT supported and there is no time frame on when or if it will every be updated. big supporter of developers, but just got shafted... i paid and they refused to issue a refund for a program that doesn't work with snow leopard, nice.

Very useful in our public computer labs where authentication is mandatory and the OS features do not guarantee a logoff. Especially appreciate the ability to use as login hook without having problems with the ByHost plist files.

I'll defer a formal review until I can get a working application. It shows real promise, however, the Controller just hangs on my system (iMac, Tiger). When I launch it, it prompts for the Admin password but after entering, the application hangs and has to be Force Quit.

This bug was caused from another bug with Apple's Intel XCode. Recompiling the program on a PPC based mac has resolved the issue. Please download the latest version from www.fitzwaterinc.com. If you have any other questions, comments, suggestions, or problems, please email them to rfitz@fitzwaterinc.com.

Just download LOSS 2.0.4. Works great! Will come in handy in the lab I administer. This software does exactly what it is supposed to, after being idle for 10 LOSS is activated and the countdown begins. From there I was successfully brought back to the login screen just as I expected. This will add some security to our lab by giving user's who forget to logout the ability to automatically logged off when they go idle. I would recommend this program for anyone who has multiple user's on one or many machines!

Why pay $9.99 for this ...when you can get Ciao ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15090 ) for free and get the exact same functionality???!

Ciao does not have as many features as LogOutScreenSaver. Ciao will also not log you off or bring you back to the login window if you have unsaved work open.

Im sorry dev, but after lookin at your table of comparisons, i think you have unfairly rated your program way above the other options, and the some of the extras that your's provides isnt really that impressive. for example, one criteria is "can the pref pane be locked?" which you obviously didnt notice that apples timed logout system is in the security pref pane and can be locked. also "auto updating?" doesnt aapply to apples logout due to it being built in to the OS. I dont feel that custom logos deem your software good enough to use over something else.

There are a lot of people saying that Apple's auto-logout feature can do what LogOutScreenSaver can do or there are other programs that can do the same thing for free. This is NOT true. Goto http://fitzwaterinc.osxdownloads.com/advantages.html for a comparison of LogOutScreenSaver against the other competitors.

Apple's way of doing this does not work if there are unsaved documents open. The logout process will timeout. For a full list of advantages goto and then click on Advantages in the menu bar.

Or try the FREE LoginSwitch screensaver at: http://homepage.mac.com/rselph/FileSharing15.html Why would you pay for something that you can't even try out if a free version which does as much is available?

Your software will only bring the user back to the login screen if they have Fast User Switching enabled, and it won't even do that if the user has unsaved documents open. LogOutScreenSaver is much more complex then just executing the cgsession command. For more information goto www.fitzwaterinc.com
