Pac the Man is a simple clone of the ever popular classic arcade game Pac-Man. The graphics approximate those of the original game, though the music has been changed.

If you have Mac OS 10.3 or higher and a 16MB graphic card, we recommend you download the sequel, Pac the Man X. It has more levels, better graphics and even a level editor. And it's still free. Have fun!

This is an outstanding game, especially as freeware. Great music, great graphics.
The "normal" level is a very big jump in difficulty from "easy," but once one figures out how to steer it's okay.
I'd also like to have a way to pause the game, though.
Absolutely fun, and exciting to play. Here is my wish list on the new version; 1. Ability to pause the game, 2. Keyboard responses is okay, but could be more fun if this could be improved, 3. Viewscore should also logged the levels completed.
The game was fun to play; however, after I play a couple games it will freeze and I usually have to restart my computer. I'm running it on Panther (1GHz Powerbook).
Although I have enjoyed the previous updates of Pac the Man 2, the 1.0.4 version just seems to "bump and grind" along when I try to play the game. I did not have any problems with the game prior to the 1.0.4 version. I am running the game in the Mac Classic 9.2.2 version OS. Does anyone have any info or tips to improve the performance of the game?
This version of Pac Man really takes me back. I haven't noticed any major flaws, except that my computer struggles to display the high scores. Overall, this is an excellent game.
Just the best Pac Man clone you can get. Maybe it doesn't look exactly like the original, but the graphics is superb, controlling PacMan is perfect (unlike many other clones). You can, if you like messing with bytes, hack your own levels. Apart from making my own levels, I also used Graphics Converter to change the solid ghosts to be translucent, and *now* I think we're talking. =)
Conclusion: Best PacMan clone in many years!
-Oh, and the music is very nice as well; PacMania-like (you can ofcourse change the music to whatever you like, if you're a hacker like me). -To the author: Excellent, please keep up the good work!! =)

Please fix the randomness of the fruit appearances. They are supposed to have some nature of regularity from them. I am rather successful at the game, but I find it odd that sometimes I have to wait until level 3 for any fruit.
This game is really bad. Or maybe something went wrong when I downloaded it but it seems like every seconds of movemen and my guy stops and the bad guys come and eat him
I love the game. The one thing I wish for is this: that speed increases of pac the man would carry over from level to level. I'm flying on one level after eating a lemon and the next I'm crawling again.
Great little time-waster with very nice graphics and gameplay. For even more fun, go to http://www.kariokebar.com and grab some cheesy replacement MIDI files for the four tracks included with Pac the Man---just rename the MIDIs so they're called the same thing as the originals. I've got PacMan rocking out to Queen, Herbie Hancock, and even Mike Oldfield's theme from The Exorcist. Makes a great game even better. (-:,
this game is nice BUT it has ONE MAJOR FLAW. on the old arcade games you could make your moves prior to arriving at the corner/opening you wanted to turn into. ie. tap the joystick left, and at the next opportunity to take a left turn, pac-man would do it. however on this game, you have to hit the keys (joystick) at the exact moment you pass the turn, otherwise he keeps going forward. booooooo!!!
This is great news! I used to play Pac the Man frequently in Classic, and when I switched to OS X there was no decent Pac-Man clone available. I can't wait for Bub and Bob 2 (another game that's made by the same person who created this game) to be released. it is one of only two things forcing me to keep Classic installed.
Besides the fact that it is now OS X-native, it adds "Ms. Pac-Man" and has far better graphics, decent music, and a great icon. Keep up the good work, McSebi!
After a lot of hard work and taking suggestions gracefully, the developer has brought this game closer to the good old arcade days. A tip of the hat and thanks for taking me back to my misspent youth!
Forget my first post, this is more correct:
I've installed this nice game on a couple of Macs, and for some reason the correct icons doesn't always get added to the application, as mentioned below. Remove it and unstuff it again. It worked for me.
It's A Very Cool Game!! But I wish it had an icon instead of a geniric one, Also I wish that you could start on any level and design your own level. These options are in the menus but are disabled for some reason. Other than the IT'S AWESOME!! I changed the music to some of my own midi files and IT'S EVEN COOLER NOW!! If you want to please download this game, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!
Nice. Playable. Runs fine on my Dual 867. I'd say the grey/black checker background is a little hard to look at. Perhaps a bit darker to resolve contrast.
