Overview

ohphoneX is a Cocoa wrapper for ohphone. ohphone, part of OpenH323 project, is a command line program that does H.323 conferencing. The binary version of ohphoneX also comes with a pre-compiled ohphone. It provides Mac-to-Mac, Mac-to-PC (NetMeeting and GnomeMeeting compatible) audio communication, as well as Mac-to-Phone through Internet telephony providers that allow you access their H.323 call gateway.

* iChat does voice and video. * Skype does Mac/PC to Mac/PC and to phone. So what's the point of this?

Works well for me. 10.3.8 etc. I can use this in a way I can't use gnomemeeting using gatekeepers and such. Could never get it to work with gnomemeeting. I use it for college. A fullscreen option would be nice though or at least maximize.

Ohphone 0.3.x requiree Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and it will never work with 10.2 (Jaguar) because of changer to the video handling code. If you need Ohphone to work in Jaguar go straight to version 0.2.

I couldn't get it working. When I call the other party (PC on Netmeeting), my Ohphonex sais that the other party doesn't have the right codec. I think it is better to wait until this ap works. For the time being I preferer iVisit

It did recognize my isight and that was it. tryed to call another mac by ip address and gave a error message saying that the other mac was off line. it looks easy to use but it doesn't work. If you have an old mac download ivisit it looks ugly but it does the job

this aplications has lot's of bugs, and when i say a lot, i mean really a LOT. I prefer the version 0.1, it's less buggy. Still it's a good aplication, the first one that let mac users to videoconference with pc users thru netmeeting (ip adress).

Since I work on video conferencing with PCs, I have had to rely on the expertise of others for help with MACs. There are a couple of faculty members here at the university who use MACs. They need to use OhPhoneX to use with a specific software. When purchasing web cams, I thought the iSight (made by Apple) would be perfectly fine. To our dismay, it does NOT work with OhPhoneX. What is the problem? Can anyone help? Do we need to return the web cam for another brand? And, why...of all brands... iSight by Apple is not supported? Thanks!

I have tried ohphoneX with 4 different machines, with OS X 10.3.2 on a dual G4 and a 12" PowerBook, and with OS X 10.2.8 on a 15" and a 12" PowerBook, using either the internal sound or isight for audio. In all combinations, I get either very poor quality audio or no audio at all. The video is fine, and text messaging works OK too. Anybody know what is wrong?

Why.doesn't.my.audio.work? I.use.a.dvcam(jvc.gr-dvl170) OhPhoneX.doesn't.recognize.the.microphone.of.my.dv-cam. Is.there.a.codec.available.for.this.problem?
