Interface could use some cleaning but it works like a charm, even on remote servers.

Does what the finder and Spotlight can't do, it finds anything, simple easy to use, I take this every where with me on my portable HD, Love it, I'd happily pay to buy this, spotlight sucks, EasyFind finds stuff!

EasyFind is just an awesome app that finds everything on my Late 2013 iMac and external drives including the things that Finder cannot find and it has saved me a lot of time not only in file management, but in deleting those allusive files left behind when uninstalling other apps that AppCleaner misses.

This app is amazing. I use it at work over a network on huges disks with tons of files (where Spotlight fails to index those drives properly) and it finds my queries in no time. I also tried Find Any File but it has less options. It could use a better icon though.

Sheesh! I don't know where you guys are coming from. Mac's search ability is the OS' Achilles heel.

Even when I know the exact name, Spotlight, or these third-party alternatives, never bring it to the top of the results list.

You can got to Spotlight in System Preferences to arrange the order in which results are displayed. Spotlight arranges results by file type, so for example if the PDF Documents category is near the bottom of the display order, an exact match for a PDF file name will be near the end of the Spotlight results.

For hidden files and system files, Spotlight is worthless. Use a third party app like EasyFind, iFileX, Find Any File, etc.

Nope, it's not the order by filetypes. Even if one searches "exactname.jpg", Spotlight returns extraneous results. Have not "found" EasyFind to help with this.

Frankly, I'd rather have search make a guess based on probability and repeat the search until one finds the right file than slogging through 600 results and being to blind to find it!

Spotlight and EasyFind don't find the same way actually. While EasyFind searches what you type "live", Spotlight needs to build an index, a database of the content of your disks, it then compares the query to the index. It may be quick for a local drive but issues arise when one needs to search over a network. I prefer EasyFind over Spotlight since todays computers are fast enough to go without indexing.

This is not a review because I've only tried EasyFind once, to look for files related to a deleted app. It found six files/folders, which I deleted. Then I tried FindAnyFile - that found no less than forty further files!

Easily my favorite utility for years-and think of it, I never have to fool with that Spotlight and it's quirks. This app simply finds anything, everywhere on your computer. Speedily, no fooling around, and it's free. Bless DevonTech's heart.

One of my favorite little applications, been using it for years without any problems. I prefer EasyFind over Spotlight for finding hidden files when deleting applications. We also use it to find specific photos in our huge database. Highly recommended.

Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Now that Mavericks' Spotlight is using metadata tagging, which I hate so much,I am now using EasyFind instead. I like the way it finds my mp3 files in the proper way,how I have listed them,by artist followed by song, which Spotlight is now incapable of doing.

This app looks great. But I found a little bug this morning while using it. It seems to be rather processor intensive and when I tried to access a menu, while a search was in progress, the menu stayed on, there seems to be no way to make it go away (probably will when the search is done) and I get the spinning disk cursor.

Looks like the search isn't working in its own thread, independent from the interface.

I can't get Quick Look to work with content searches. Any idea how to solve this? I'm on 10.6.4 . Quick Look seems to be otherwise working in finder and even DevonThink.

Seems to be a bug- several reports, along with mine right now, that 4.5 does not work with 10.4.11 - no window opens, although the app does boot, apparently. FWIW, I've also had a real problem with EasyFind when it finds a long list of items- it hangs and I have to force-quit it.
