Automatically launch, quit, or kill applications when others are launched or quit.

Overview

Linked Applications Launcher allows you to automatically launch, quit, or kill applications when others are launched or quit.

  • You can make any application launch automatically when any other one launches or quits.
  • You can make any application quit or even kill automatically when any other one launches or quits.
  • You can add or remove as many links between applications as you want.
  • It appears in the right side of the menu bar.
  • It doesn't need any installation which makes it very easy to use.
  • It is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian and many other languages.

What's new in Linked Applications Launcher

Version 7.1:
  • A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with High Sierra, and as Universal Binary to keep being compatible with both old (PowerPC) Macs and recent (Intel) Macs.
  • The "How to intall it?" paragraph of the documentation has been updated to explain how to install and launch the Application in particular under Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra:
  • Under Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra, if you're launching the Application for the first time, Mac OS' GateKeeper (which you can configure in the "System Preferences") will refuse to launch it because you've not downloaded it from the Mac App Store (but from our website). In this case, instead of double-clicking on it, all you have to do is to right-click on the Application's icon, and then select the "Open" menu. A message will appear in which you'll be able to confirm that you want to launch the Application (even if it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store from an Identified Developper).

Why? I can do this for free with AppleScript or Automator without the overhead of an extra background application.

The functionality provided by ANY AlphaOmega app can usually be found in a far less expensive and far better designed app. Look carefully before you leap!

I use this to automatically launch (or quit) Isolator and Menu Eclipse whenever I launch (or quit) VLC. I tried setting up an Automator app to launch all three programs, but it's much less convenient as it doesn't then open the video file in VLC, and doesn't quit the other programs when VLC quits. Is $20 a lot to pay for this? You bet. Really should be half that.
