Found the app very good and would recommend and have found the developer responsive and the permanent license key arrangement very fair.

I bought DVDxDV when it was first released with a "permanent license key." The "permanent license key" no longer works, and the developer insists I pay another license fee even though I've already bought a permanent key. Prospective buyers should be aware of the developer's dishonesty.

I was so happy to find DVDxDV. I had used a Sony product to burn my 8mm home videos to DVD with the intention of using some of the movies on my computer. However, my own videos were 'locked' and I could not access them. DVDxDV allowed me to easily grab portions of my video for use in my computer projects. This was invaluable because the other option would have been to rip the entire DVD to my computer. I did not want that. I wanted to pick and choose what I transferred to my computer. Excellent product and easy to use. I just opened it and got working.

I read a good article on the LAFCPUG site about DVDxDV and I decided to give it a try. The converted file works perfectly in my FCP 7 timeline. It's Exactly what I needed. Whatever it lacks in look and design, it makes up for with excellent customer service. I had several questions that I emailed and they got back to me immediately. They asked me to give them a review on this site and I became a member just so I could do that. Keep up the great work.

I contacted their support team at dvdxdv@support.com. I got a reply within seconds of sending the email. Amazing! Very good product by the way.

Nothing compares to the quality and ease of use. I couldn't stand those spamware Chinese DVD programs that don't work and make your video look terrible, such as, Wondershare, Leawoo, iSkySoft, etc. This is the only program that I use.

There are better free tools out there. This is a rather poor app.

26cab40 you must be another troll. How you can even compare DVDxDV to handbrake? DVDxDV has helped me recover hundreds of videos from damaged DVDs and handbrake has done nothing but choked on them. This tool works as advertised. Ignore the mental midgets trolling in this tools reviews. They must be shills working for the Asian backed spamming video conversion companies like Aimersoft, iSkysoft, Any-Video-Converter, Wondershare, Xillisoft and hundreds of other names!

I'm a comedian and am always ripping bits from my shows off DVD's for youtube, my website and other promotional places.... this is the best software out there for that. Also, last week my hard drive crashed and so I needed to reload their program on my computer. I couldn't find a way to reload it without buying it again. I'm on tour today in California and emailed them asking if there was a way to get it without buying it again. It was 8:15AM on Sunday morning so I knew I wouldn't get a response but about 10 minutes later I got an email telling me how to do it. Absolutely amazing customer service backing up an all ready great product!

Have been using DVDxDV for two years now, version 1.09 on a pair of MacG5s; my experience is that if you have a DVD that is about 3GB full or less, it works fine. The app takes a long time to load the DVD. But if you have a 4GB, the problems abound! Additionally, if you have made your DVD from a videotape with some control track that is not continuous, the app fails on a number of fronts. For the past couple of days I've been trying to make a .mov file from one of four tracks on a DVD that I made from a VHS tape. The app does not recognize much of the track; just the last 20%. I've given up on DVDxDV! If only I could recover my lost time in past couple days!

I have been using DVDxDV for over a year now and I could not easily do my job without this tool. I am a Technology Specialist in a K-8 school and help produce a Kid's TV News Show at a local cable TV station. We shoot the stories at school in .mov format using video cameras and iMovie on Macs and go to the studio to do the anchor shoots. We record on VCR at the studio and it is transferred to DVD format. I use DVDxDV to easily convert the studio DVD to a .mov format so I can do my final merging and editing in iMove. I then burn to DVD for use at the studio for our final broadcasting. I have tried a couple other solutions but this is the easiest software to use and it produces great results. The support team is also awesome. I had to replace a hard drive on my Mac and I did not have the license key to activate the product for a critical weekend production. I emailed them and had the key back in less than five minutes. I would recommend this product highly.

Easy to use and works very well. It's a great piece of the puzzle for moving VHS home movies to digital. I use a Sony DVD recorder to dub VHS to DVD and then import the DVD video to the Mac with DVDxDV. There is some overscan from the VHS analog, but that can be cropped with iMovie.

DVDxDV Pro Ver 1.088 This is exactly!!! the program I was looking for....I am by no-way a computer expert and use them out of necessity only. So 'ease of use' is of high importance to me. I desire to do all of the cool things that you see others with much greater computer knowledge than I. My desire was to improve all of my presentations to small classes of home groups and small church groups. This program was a perfect fit. Just put the start and stop bars at the desired locations and let the program do the rest. Many thanks from a computer minimal-ist.

My experience has been very different than that of ptklenk (the reviewer before me). After work hours on the west coast I ran in to a problem moving DVDxDV from my G5 to Mac Pro. I emailed customer service and considered it a day done. After dinner, I checked and had an email from customer service with a current registration # and link to download the latest version. I did have problems entering in my registration number. Only when I enlarged the text in the email could I tell the difference between the number "one", a lower case "L" and an upper case "i". But it did work and I finished the project a day before I thought I would. Thanks!

Guys, if you can help please do. I just bought DVDxDV pro, I am hoping someone out there has a solution to my prob. I have shot footage in widescreen on my dvd sony handycam and want to edit as widescreen in FCP. But whenever I try to export from DVD DVDxDVpro into .mov it resizes my footage, and crops the width, (removing the widescreen). Is it my preferences, I am convinced I have tried everything! anyone have any ideas? or if you have successfuly kept footage as widescreen where have I gone wrong? cheers.

DVDxDV is a very useful tool, when working on DVD material to be edited, even in iMovie! Several weeks ago, i started editing a EUS31 DVD proyect with a low budget in my pocket. i went to the internet looking for a good converter,because most of the footage were burned on DVDs. I try de Demo, and found it useful and stable. with excellent image quality. Days later i bought a SONY DVD/VHS recorder, and found that certain DVDs like the one´s burned in this device, can´t be converted without using first some comand-line technique or in my case, a Rip Software. You have to get used with the program Preferences to get rid of audio sync problems that sometimes happen, and/or intelacing issues. But this depends of footage quality in most cases. Anyway, i´m happy with this great tool. It works fine for me. pablodagnino@cantv.net
