Stock WatchTower is used to quickly find and analyze growth stocks by using your high-speed Internet connection to organize data and charts from multiple websites. How much time do you spend sorting through the same stocks each day? Stock WatchTower will increase your efficiency by allowing you to focus on those stocks that are approaching key decision points.
Stock WatchTower focuses on two key areas of investing in growth stocks: finding stocks with promising characteristics, and providing the information needed for you to analyze the stocks after they are found.
Promising growth stocks are found by downloading information for all stocks, and then grouping the stocks for further analysis. Each stock tends to follow a trend, and Stock WatchTower uses the principle of assigning a type of "base" in order to describe each trend. Stocks showing the same trend are then grouped in Smart WatchTowers in order to quickly analyze stocks with similar characteristics. A Smart WatchTower can also change the base automatically based on your own criteria. For example, a stock that is above its 50-Day Moving Average and is approaching a fresh 52-Week High may be ready to break out to new highs and start an uptrend. You can also refine these criteria by adding other factors, such as if the stock is in a top performing Industry Group, is showing high Relative Strength, and has high earnings and sales growth rates.
Stock WatchTower then helps you to analyze these promising stocks so that you can make a buy decision. Presenting fundamental and technical information alongside weekly and daily charts does this. This information is derived from multiple websites, and you can select which information is highlighted in this detailed display. You can also jump to your favorite website to quickly look at its information for that particular stock. Stock WatchTower also retains articles that you downloaded from your favorite websites that you can then refer to for a trade.
The price is $25, $50, or $100 depending on the version that you order, and there is no need for a monthly fee for data.
Version 2.3:
- Columns are added that show the % change for the Day, Week, Month, Quarter, and Year. You can quickly see what happened to the S&P 500, or any other WatchList by looking at these columns. These statistics now apply to both the groups and the individual files.
- You can double-click on these columns to sort the Navigator by that category. In particular, see the the "Sectors" tab, and sort the best performing sectors to the top.
- A Sectors tab is added that tracks sectors and industry groups.
You can now double click on an information category in the table in the Charts View and sort by that category. A special feature was added for international stocks. Different websites, such as Yahoo and MSN, use different symbols for international stocks. Stock WatchTower attempts to convert these automatically, but there are some exceptions. You can now specify these exceptions by going the the Chart View and clicking on the tab for the particular website, such as MSN. There is a field in which you can change the symbol used for that particular stock. WatchLists are cleaned to remove any empty symbols. This occurred previously with the Industry Group automatic WatchLists and led to many error messages. These incorrect symbols are now removed from the WatchLists
