QuikViewer is an image viewer for the Mac OS. Sure, there's plenty of other image viewers, but most of them hog the memory or bog down the computer. QuikViewer is the solution to this problem. It takes up very little space on your Hard Drive, uses very little memory, and only requires QuickTime and CarbonLib! Also, the time it takes in QuikViewer to open an image is significantly less than most image viewers, including QuickTime itself!
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS 9 or later

Had problems getting anything other than a stretched bar of the image on the screen. Having seen it working on other photogrpahers laptops, I don't know why it won't work on mine. Any ideas?

This viewer will view a single image after selecting it with a file selector. Thats it.
There is no drag and drop, no selecting multiple files. No special effeciencies. It does pop up a terminal window when it launches and it uses about twice the memory of the built in preview app 2.97megs on launch vs. 1.47megs for preview. It also had a few aspect ratio problems (some images appeared stretched) and has no preferences to change anything.

Simple, but also pretty limited. At a minimum I usually expect being able to open multiple images in an image viewer.

The reason the "terminal" window comes up is because this program was created with a console BASIC development tool. The Open File dialog box is completely standard for whatever OS (9 or X) you may be using. The reason no formal introductions are made in the program is so you can do exactly what this program was made for: open an image file quickly.

Weird...upon first launch, I saw a glimpse of a terminal window flash up, then immediately replaced by an Open File dialog box, presumably to pick a folder of images to view, but there is no message alerting you to this at all. No menu at the top of the screen. No splash screen, no instructions, nothing; plus the Open file dialog is non-standard, non-draggable, no clue as to what to do. Very non-user friendly. Plus I question what that Terminal window comes up for...too scary. Don't bother with this "app".
