Journey into sound and virtual music.

Overview

Meditation Music is a fun journey into sound and virtual music.

The style of music is based on the Indian Ragas which evoke calmness & meditation and makes use of sound samples from some of the most popular Indian musical instruments; flute, sitar, santoor, violin, guitar and tabla. In addition to this ambient sound and image are combined with user input to produce an individual musical experience.

Meditation Music does not claim to teach music theory but does provide a simple means for personal expression and involvement with music.

It ain't Train. You'll either love its soothing, “New Age“ waftings or... not. I like it.

This app is eating my CPU for breakfast!! On my 1.33Ghz iBook it takes between 45-55 % of the CPU for itself!! Apart from that Its a really delicious application that I would consider to pay for, given a few enhancements. For now its unusable.

Nice app, though it does get repetitive after awhile. Of course most popular music does that too, and even sooner... ...and I think the posters who say "it ain't Train" really mean "it ain't 'Trane" as in John Coltrane, right? ;-)

This is a fun little application, most likely utterly useless but I think we all need some useless but fun things in our lives. My only source of complaint would be the quality of the sound loops used in the application since I find them too short, thus creating a very repetitive pattern. Also in several cases these loops are cut very harshly so that the looping point is easily heard

Well... It's not as good as a similar program for OS 9 who's name I can't remember, but it's certainly a cool little app, with several features that are quite nice... Though I've only used it for a few moments, so I won't give a rating yet. Train?... Well, it's certainly not Train. lol

This is a fantastic program from that works on three levels: (1) You can easily "play" a variety of eastern instruments yourself. (2) Relax and meditate, becoming submerged in the sounds and visuals. (3) Let it autoplay and provide soothing background music. Whichever you chose you are sure to enjoy the experience! And the developer is very responsive, too. Top marks all round (well, I've deliberately given the features 4 stars - they are fine as they are but I am excited by the possibilities that exist to expand and enhance this already-great software. Hopefully the developer is too and I can add the last star to a future release!)
