~S Sorry, you can't compare PS and Pixelmator. Every app has its OK and its NO, but you can't compare. Writing software today is much more easy than 18 years ago. (Version 1.3.1)

SafariBlock | Sep 27 2008 |
~S I forgot to mention: I created manually a ad-block feed with only one entry and SafariBlock still blocks many ads (including, for example, MacUpdate ones), while it wasn't instructed to do so... (?) (Version 2.2r1)

~S Please, read the descriptions. I read that this framework/thing uses MacOS-specific technologies to show flash movies on screen. It is an attempt to run them better: faster, less CPU and RAM (I guess), etc. It provides also the tools for other developers to substitute Adobe's frameworks with Swfdec's ones. Actually, in my machine it will eat more RAM and CPU than Adobe's player, won't play sounds, etc. But I'm sure it will improve its performance in a short future (cross fingers!) (Version 0.8b1)

~S Everything tested in the standalone player and I meet the requirements to run Swfdec: -Poor performance (testing Intel Xeon 2,66GHz 5GB RAM) under some circumstances (maybe associated to setInterval tasks?) -No menus (I can't copy-paste, for example, or "undo") -Input text fields don't draw a white background but transparent (maybe an issue depending on your design) -Issues with embedded fonts and dynamic text fields -Doesn't respect fixed-width text fields (tested with static) -Issues drawing edges (some drawings look awful!) -Links in text fields won't work -Doesn't work loadMovie under some circumstances -Loading movies in higher levels (when available at all) will produce re-drawing issues (that is loads of red blocks around the window). Unload doesn't work at all. Various more issues. -Doesn't respect "enabled" property of buttons Sorry, still not ready to be beta software, but keep on the good work! ;-) (Version 0.8b1)

~S I'm beginning to love these Double H Software's crazy apps. They mimic the OS behaviour most of times, but in a crazy fashion. Notes are the top-one. Read: "This applications may work in tiger or earlier". Not sure if this is a goodie or a baddie. And the screenshot, finally, is a must-have: http://www.macupdate.com/screenshot.php?id=28222 So many secrets in this dev's desktop... Enigma! (Version 1.0)

~S And, BTW, no need to install into /usr/bin, login as administrator or similar. You can place the binary in whatever place you wish. I still remember the days when "mac-like" was equivalent to be unable to watch divx or hear mp3... (Version 3.8b3)

~S This is a command-line utility. If you download it, you usually know how to install and how to use. Otherwise, go somewhere else and pick a front-end and mac-like such as the ones mentioned around (I think)... (Version 3.8b3)

Microsoft Office 2008 | May 14 2008 |
~S Same release notes than in year 2003-4-5-6-7-8... Hopefully this update will definitively fix the issues with security, stability, and performance, appart the malicious code and the memory stuff. (Version 12.1)

WONDERING Yes, LQ (Laughing Quietly), from the official MS site, for latest 11.3.5: Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.5 Update This update contains several improvements to enhance security and stability... In addition, this update includes all the improvements released in all previous Office 2004 updates. Though, they point out that it is a 'combo' style update, so perhaps that makes it work better for people than their older practice of having to do them individually in sequence. Gordon Flash Decompiler | Feb 21 2006 |
~S Gordon is an interesting app, but still isn't able to save back modified ActionScript (some times, you would simply substitute on-the-fly a play() with a stop(), instead of the long process of blah, blah, blah). Converts to .fla, true, but some times in un-usable format. At least with some test files (a bit complex movies; otherwise, they wouldn't require conversion), it doesn't create interpolations, problems with groups, random shapes, masks, positions of items... (Version 1.6.3)
