****.

ZEPFHYR  I've been using this app for the last 3 or 4 point-upgrades and must say that I'm rather pleased with it so far.

It's not perfect, as I primarily use it as a way to get my ebooks onto my iPhone into Stanza and converting to ePub is a little hit or miss depending on the format you start with. But when it works, it works really well.

I only hope that future versions allow a manual table-of-contents or chapter creation subscreen. This would be of great use for those who are converting from PDF or other formats that exist primarily for purposes beyond ebooks.

While it's definitely got some ways to go, I can see this becoming the iTunes of ebooks in short order. Now, if only it can "auto sync" to devices like the Sony eReader.

ZEPFHYR  I had a similar problem with an older version of the app. I downloaded it again and put it into the Applications folder, replacing the version already there. Since then, I've had no issues. Since there's a new release today, you might check it out.

Mozy for Mac
Mar 12 2009

ZEPFHYR  Your backup likely didn't start over at 0%. Any time a Mozy backup is interrupted and started again, it always reads 0% as a new backup has begun (the first 9% is on the server already and is therefore not a part of this current backup). As for the speed of the backup, that has frustrated me at times, as well, but once you've completed your initial backup, each subsequent backup is fairly quick (unless you add gigabytes of data to your computer every day).

I recommend backing up your most critical data first (i.e. pictures, as they cannot be retaken the way music can be re-ripped or re-downloaded), and then move on to subsequent items. This allows you to back up the most important stuff and be certain that it's safe before moving on to the less-important content and reduce the length of time of each backup.

ZEPFHYR  This latest beta release includes some bugfixes that may resolve the issues that you're having. Can't guarantee it, since I've not had the same issues that you do to test myself, but it'd certainly be worth a shot.

ZEPFHYR  The emulator gains support from the developers "Emulator Enhancer" product. This adds full-screen support and gamepad support. Emulator Enhancer is shareware, but is fully-featured without registration (there is a nag screen at startup).

iWork Dock
Jul 6 2008

ZEPFHYR  I like it. Two suggestions.

1) New icon. Perhaps a melding of the Pages, Keynote, and Numbers icons instead of an image of the box (makes it hard to discern and creates a jarring contrast to the other icons in the dock).

2) If possible, it'd be nice to make it so that if you open an app with the launcher it will switch to the app just launched if you don't go selecting other apps, but if you click on Safari or Mail after Pages, then Pages opens in the background. This is more similar to the way Apple applications open, now.

Also, iLife version would be awesome, as well. This is a brilliant idea and an excellent way to reduce clutter for commonly used (but not THAT commonly used) apps.

iWork Dock

SAMSOFTWARE  Currently when you launch an application from iWork Dock or Office Dock, they will be brought to the front, but in cases such as the Microsoft office applications where you have to wait for them to launch completely, so if you do click on safari, to look something up or mail, to check your mail while you wait, when to are ready to go back to pages or whatever, you can either command tab to it, or go to the iWork Dock icon, then do the same thing as if you were going to launch Pages, but instead of launching it again it will bring it to the front.
