Would love the ability to export/import CSV and/or AppShelf files!

YULETIDE  Nice piece of software, but it lacks the one thing I really needed it for... assigning half-star ratings! Seems I'll have to stick with Quicksilver for now (since Synergy Advance died)

YULETIDE  Wow... thanks for the heads up... I agree about giving this 3 stars tho... even for experienced users, having to deal with all these issues on TOP of also being your own audio engineer. A program shouldn't step on its own feet. I haven't tried it yet... but I must say if Hear's presets are crap, that's a big disadvantage to the comparatively decent presets in SRS iWow. But that's just hypothetical...

Devs, wake up and fix these damn bugs! Us users are a fickle bunch....

YULETIDE  Oh, here are the stars for the previous comment. Works pretty well, I bought it as a replacement for the (free) hotkey functionality of Quicksilver. I still use this instead, but only because I'm too lazy to look for alternatives. It works well enough, but every once in a while goes crazy and freezes. And has bare-bones functionality. And none of the "modules" that were promised long ago. Did someone say stagnant?

YULETIDE  I paid faithfully for this app more than a year ago, and don't think I've seen a single release since then. Wow. One of the few pieces of software I'd ADVOCATE pirating. Just cause I don't think the money will go to any use. Prove me wrong?

YULETIDE  Great little app, and the price is right! Works as advertised... the self-updating blacklist and the "genie" which searches for updated applications (which then need to be re-slimmed) are also great!

YULETIDE  ditto the previous review. a pity too, it's a great idea and well implemented, but the price is just ludicrous! Someone needs to create a plugin or something to wrap this functionality into textmate...

Especially since the "edit in writeroom" functionality is borrowed straight from TM!

Downgrade to 1.6.7: http://sixtyfive.thesneaky.com/temporary/7zX_1.6.7.dmg

YULETIDE  Great app! Seems to be the best front-end (for compressing) for 7z around... and 7z is super-awesome. It isn't anything close to what's available on Windows (shell integration! so nice...), but its free and it works better than the rest.

That being said, a GUI would be SUPER nice (being able to do things other than through drag & drop). Also, having the app decide if I want to compress/decompress is a bit annoying. I should be able to set a pref so it only tries decompressing for certain formats (so I can recompress a zip or something, for instance).

Oh, and http://sparkle.andymatuschak.org/ would be a nice addition too!

Keep up the great work...

YULETIDE  I figured it out. I was trying to compare compression ratios between 7z and the much faster ZIP, so I had already zipped the pdf. Then 7z tried to expand (i dropped the pdf). Though it didn't actually do any expansion. When I deleted the zip file, it compressed the pdf just fine.

TASKMAN  This used to happen when you had an archive with the same file name in the same folder as the items you were trying to compress.

At that point, 7zX should have created a 7z archive, but rather noticed your ZIP archive and focused on that rather than launching the compression routines.

Fixed in version 1.7. :)

And I'll try to find a copy of Interarchy 8 to use in the meantime.

YULETIDE  Sorta like Beatunes, but free...

Though the beatunes implementation is a bit weird. I like how it can automatically assign color tags for me tho... (beatunes, that is)

The prospect of having to go through and actually tag all my stuff by hand keeps me from really going for this though...

YULETIDE  Given all the mixed reviews that have floated to the top, I just wanted to throw out my two cents... which is that this application is just fabulous! I've been waiting for ages for something that could intelligently help me sort through the chaos of id3 tags and duplicate files that plague my growing-faster-than-I-can-listen-to-or-sort-properly music collection. At times it gives strange results when finding "duplicates", but those are easy enough to ignore, and I'm sure it will improve in future iterations. I'd jump to buy it a bit quicker if it were priced a bit lower (maybe 15?), but I'll probably still end up paying once the trial runs out :-)
