YAPPA  Use MacPorts and Porticus to install this relatively easily; (search MacUpdate for those), and the experience will make you even more 'less average'.

YAPPA  This has always been my favourite. Some very powerful features. Lead the pack too, before there was a 'pack'. Since I installed SL (10.6) I have waited, hoping ... :-)

Big Business Server

YAPPA  I'm amazed to hear that some consider this "too expensive" considering what it does.

I know some of my clients spend more than the asking price of this on a certain OS, office suite, security and anti-whatever software; yet they are still obligated to go ahead and purchase accounting and client management software to do this job. phew.

LiquidCD

YAPPA  The great thing about LiquidCD is that it can save NRG images (often created on a PC using NERO Burning ROM) as ISO images (i.e. International Standards Organisation CD/DVD images).

I used to have to use a W'doze program in WINE.

YAPPA  Can we have this as a 'faceless' app. please?

I'd like to have the functionality without seeing the icon in my Dock or (command-tab) Application Switcher.

Thanks.

Quicksilver
Oct 3 2009

YAPPA  Wow!

I never knew it was broken, or "dead". I'm glad it wasn't ... not for me anyway. Wanted. Needed.

One of the slickest, most unobtrusive, yet on-demand pieces of software I've ever used.

I've been using Quicksilver β54 (3815) since it was disseminated. I'm on 10.6.1 now. No problems here. Obviously I'm not using the plugins (etc.) that some others are. It's just an instant launcher for me.

Gives me the sort of access I want to my /3rd Party/Applications ... and ../Games, ../Utilities, etc.

Phew.
