Looks cool, but too expensive. If their price jumps $400 in one step, what's the next price increase going to be? Would have liked to continue to recommend this to my hosting clientele, but I am not going to get them into a program that sees such price increases. I would have much rather seen smaller and consistent price increases throughout the life of this product. |
This assumes one has the ability to shift payments to those low interest cards you talk about. For others that may not have this option, this is actually a pretty good program to get them to that point of getting a low interest card so they can shift it all over. |
This is a pretty crazy way to evaluate anything - just based upon a few reviews, few of which even evaluate the program. Try using the program to evaluate it before blindly stating you are not going to purchase it based upon the reviews. |

Hands down, the best overall weather program. We used it as a display and it was always getting comments like, wow, that is cool; or how'd you make the weather look so good. Yes, it is payware, but it is worth it. You get what you pay for. The only thing missing is a screensaver functionality, but maybe some day. |
Nice utility, but needs a few features to be effective, at least for me. Needs to remember download location. A home directory with a bunch of webshots can get to be a mess. Also needs to have a delay timer, so that locations with dynamic or changing content have a chance to display. Interface is small and app size is very small, making this a very useful utility with a lot of potential. |
Needs to have the user authenticate to install, which it does not seem to do currently. This is because it is adding something to the system software and could potentially be dangerous (not that it is), but as a matter of process. |
Very cool screensaver. It is definitely not for everyone, but for those that love watching problems being sold, right on your screen. I wish there was a way to change the graphics and / or colors. |
It would be nice to see some screen shots of this before downloading it. There is nothing even on the site that shows what the program looks like. |

Great idea and the performance is good. THe biggest drawback I have is the interface. If you close the window, it stops the plug-in, so you have to have it open. The wide view is cool to look at, but wastes tons of screen real estate. The idea of masking out a window is cool, but it should not come at a cost of wasting space. Kai's Power Tools and Bryce were some of the first to do this with a splash screen. Adobe has later followed with its CS apps. It makes it all look really polished. I think this plug-in holds a lot of promise, and I anxiously await further versions. Keep up the good work. Note: Performance can be a little sketchy at point when running iTunes 7. The performance is not really related to this plug-in, but rather iTunes 7, which needs a lot of refinements as of this review. |

It may be beautiful, but its price makes it almost unaffordable by anyone other than a large business. My guess is that the price is due to OpenBase's outrageous pricing. $700 for a basic license puts it out of reach of anyone. |

Wow. Great to see a fresh effort on a gs emulator. Works great for the most part. A few images failed to load, but all-in-all, a great rebirth for ][gs nostalgia. Keep up the awesome work. For those that do not know what a ][gs is, you missed out on a true machine back in its day. It was light years ahead of anything else. It made leaps in technology that are rarely seen anymore. Yes, all machines get faster and faster, but this brought the depth to computers that in this day are totally taken for granted. The only wish I would have for this is the ability to lock out the mouse from other programs while it is being run. Otherwise, those with large screens find themselves jumping around to different programs in the middle of playing. |

You may wish to re-examine your choice for a name for this, as QuickMail is the name of a fairly large mail server, now owned by Outspring software. |
No it does not. It has basic image handling and that is about it. Tables, css, and most modern html elements are not handled properly at all. |

Extremely slow and does not work well with many enterprise level systems that operate in Java, such as Cisco. You're right, though. It just gets really frustrating when you see stuff in Java run great on another machine, yet when you try to run it on the Mac, it either fails to run, runs so slowly that it times out or does not process the information correctly. I would really love to run some of the admin applets I have for equipment here, but they just don't work effectively, not to mention efficiently on the Mac. I am sure in many cases, Java on MOSX is perfectly fine for some. |
That is not the author's problem that Apple cannot have a decent Java Runtime Environment. Apple's Java implementation stinks at best. |
Why does there have to be all of these installations for this? Can't there just be a simple, easy to use sniffing utility? |
Too expensive for a java applet that is not even customizable. Their base is $295/year. The higher-end applets are a fortune. Maybe if it looked more professional it would be worth it. I would say it is worth $300 for a one-time payment, not recurring each year. |
I cannot get it to run, unfortunately. It keeps giving me a dialog saying "File some object not found." It says OK or Edit. Edit will not do anything, and OK just stops the process. I am very anxious to see this work, so please se if you can resolve this! Thanks! |

Sweet idea for a program. I sure wish I had this several years ago when I produced a few animation shorts. If anyone is getting into animation, this tool will save a serious amount of time, if you understand how to best utilize it. We used Toon Boom, which at the time was less than stellar, but if this tool were in it back then, the animation would have taken half the time. If Toon Boom does not have this yet, anyone using it should pick this up. |
No, but using the earlier version on your website works great. Maybe it is because my machine is not Intel. But, considering it is universal, it really should not matter. Oh well. This version works. |
Installs, but is not visible anywhere in iTunes. Tried uninstalling it again and re-installing to no avail. |
And Quake 3 is how many years old. I am sure he would sell you a version of this that is that many years old for $10, too. Everybody whines about prices until it is the amount of their paycheck. |
Even better than the first versions. I can't wait until it has a way to specify the shapes. Keep up the wonderful work! |
LMAO hilarious. Runs under 10.3.9 as well. I would love to see this developed for corporate uses (budget year, etc.). |
Worked around a bug in version 7? Well, I am kinda curious what difference this makes when there is no Mac version 7? |

There are options to third party programs that Apple does not necessarily offer. At the same time, most people that buy Mac, choose it because it is another option from what seems to be a rather lopsided market. That other choice keeps up competition, which is a very good thing. If the only installer for the Mac was Apple, then I would be worried. What is wrong with having some choices? I have used all three installers at one point or another and all have their merits. Some do certain things that others do not. To judge simply because Apple offers an installer is not wise decision making. Shop around, look at all of the options before just shooting products down because they are not made by the mothership. If it is the money, then you know, there will be no satisfying some people. Apple builds the price of its products in to allow for giving away others, like Apple's installer. Some companies cannot afford to just give away their products, and it is wrong of people to think they should. Okay, if you want to work and give away your products or services for free, then you can complain about how much something costs. Let's remember that everybody needs to be able to put food on their tables, not just you. No, I don't work for the people that make this, but I have used their product, and I have found it very useful. Their support is pretty good and they honestly try to build a better product each time they ship a product. |

What is the point of virus protection if it does nothing about checking for e-mail viruses? Until Virex fixes this, this anti-virus software is pointless and useless to end-users. As an ISP, we are no longer allowing machines that do not have adequate protection on our networks, and since Virex does not include complete protection, those users are now switching to Norton, which just about sucks, but at least works. |
Absolutely incredible piece of software. Though not covered here before, it was the first of breed in making administration of Cisco IOS-based products easy. With time, this app will be come truly indispensable. |
Very, very sweet! Nice way of keeping track of domains. A few things that I would need for this to work would be the addition of importing information such as e-mail addresses, or information like what NetSol gives when you do an export. This promises to be an essential utility. Please keep up the development. |

After installation, no longer will allow me to see a PCI 7000 through the ati displays app (crashes). Card functions, albeit very, very slowly. iTunes basic visualizer is lucky to hit 20fps (even at 640x486 res) on a 1.8 G5 with 2.5GB ram, Mac OS X 10.3.6. I really need this card operational at full capabilities. Any ways to resolve this quickly? |

Grow up. Some people want a turn-key solutions and this is one designed for a specific niche market. This is for someone that wants to continue to be a photographer, and not a webmaster. Not everybody has the time to do what most of you may. I have several clients that are ready to buy into the futureLabs solution, which is thousands of dollars, and basicly is a far more robust version of this. Bottom line: Don't knock what you have no intention of using in the first place, as most likely, you were never the intended audience from the start. Another example of this... People knock Apple for its Administrator Tools that it includes with OS X Server. Why? Because it can all be done with the cli using the config files. Does that mean that Server is a waste, when one can do it with Client? Absolutely not. It just means that someone put a lot of effort into making it a lot easier. Both are equally effective, but one is significantly easier for those that don't want to be a programmer, but rather be the best in what they already do. I am not affiliated with this developer in any way, but I do understand what it takes to write software and web applications. I don't appreciate others that blatantly choose to belittle a persons works, just because they can do it another way. Instead of knocking the software, help it grow beyond those boundaries of what you see in other solutions. Help it become what all of the rest are not. But, just to tear it apart because of one aspect is childish. I guess I expect more out of the Mac community than this type of treatment. -jason *let the flames begin* |
