XMROCKS Unfortunately, that's the risk you take when installing software like this that modifies system files for iChat. The only remedy is reinstalling from the Tiger DVD. (Version 1.4.3)

XMROCKS FYI, I did read the instructions and only ran the program once. I should not need to use Pacifist to fix the problems your software created. Plain and simple. So stop assuming that I didn't read the instructions. And of course you're going to say your application is stable. Anything else would look bad from a developer. (Version 1.2.2)

XMROCKS Agree with "Jim Milton" below. This app is causing issues system wide on my machine. Spotlight no longer shows up. Airport menu no longer shows up. Screen captures of any kind no longer work. Re-enabling these items in System Preferences does nothing, so it's clearly an issue with this application. Would NOT recommend this application as it's highly unstable and screws with important system files. (Version 1.2.2b3)

L0NE Please note: SystemUIServer (menu bar, Spotlight, screen capture) crashes are due to an incorrect application of the patch, or having applied the patch to an already-patched (twice) or already-Front Row capable system. Read the instructions before trying and it'll work. Don't, and face the consequences of your own actions. (Version 1.2.2b3)

ANDREWESCOBAR Agree with the person above me. Enabler and Front Row are not at all unstable, if you are able to follow the instructions clearly laid out. If you are having problems they are easily and quickly fixed, if you read the Troubleshooting part, and then you can then install it properly (assuming again you actually took the 2 minutes to read). (Version 1.2.2)

SWORDFISH The software is PERFECT. If Enabler reports the files are bad, no problem, get pacifist and reinstall them. It takes 5 minutes and works great afterwards If you are going to install a HACK, be prepared to some problems and take the appropriate steps to solve them, don't whine without having attempted everything to make it work. EDMURRAY I had the same problems with spotlight airport etc not showing up but sorted it with the patch and then followed the instructions to install enabler to the note and it works like a dream. Completely stable, no problems (Version 1.2.2)

MailWidget | Apr 20 2006 |
XMROCKS Pretty nice. The thing that differentiates this widget from all of the other mail checking widgets is that it doesn't open up Mail. Those widgets are kind of redundant in that you'd open Dashboard first, it would then open Mail to check for new e-mail, and then you'd switch over to Mail.app. In other words, you could have saved time by just opening Mail.app in the first place. Kind of pointless if you ask me. With this widget, it's an easy F12 to Dashboard. If there are new messages, you can then choose to open Mail if you want. If not, it doesn't care :-) It would be nice to be able to read snippets of the new e-mail and then have the option to open the Mail.app, but so far a good start! (Version 1.41)

XMROCKS A really great application and the free credit to get you started is a great way to push people to using it! I've been using it for a while now and it's a bit better than Skype, in my opinion. When I've received calls with Skype, they are often garbled and staticy, but no so with Gizmo. I'd recommend it. After all, it's free to try and you get a few cents of free credit. What's to lose?! (Version 1.3.2.132)

XMROCKS This is an OK program. The only issue I have with it is that there's no way of changing the box-like shape to it and there's no easy way to quit the program other than going into Activity Monitor and killing the daemon. I'd recommend GrowliChat in the meantime as it offers more flexibility as to where the notification appears, the shape of the notification, and an easy way to turn off/on notifications. But it's still not a bad start. (Version 3.4)

XMROCKS I wish I could say it worked but I can't. TiVo sees the connection by placing it in the Music, Photos, & More category. XMROCKS First off, yes it's beta and I understand that. Uses up an absurd amount of CPU at times (~80%). When playing music via iTunes, it sometimes cuts out the music while it's processing whatever I tell it to do. So in that respect, it's obtrusive since it wants so much CPU time. If it's the only application open, it's great. If you plan on using it with another application open that uses a bit of CPU, it's not efficient enough to be usable at this point in time. Needless to say, Google has some work to do on it. (Version 3.1.0527.0)

XMROCKS The application does not work for me using 10.4.x. It refuses to recognize .mpg files (as those are the only movie file types I have on my system, I cannot test other formats). The interface has misspellings, too, such as "Import/Brows" and "Updat All short cuts". The interface, IMO, is also ugly. The buttons aren't consistent with the look-and-feel of the application and the fonts/bolded letters fall inline with not following/adhering to the Apple Human Interface Guidelines. Application needs work and is more beta than a full release. (Version 1.4)

XMROCKS Also forgot to mention, there's no way of saving the custom string for the next time you open the application. So for instance, if I have load averages as my first message and uptime as my second message and later close the app because I am done with iChatAV, I can't reopen the iChatState later and have my previous settings/messages saved, unfortunately. I'd have to recreate the messages, which is kind of annoying. (Version 1.8)

XMROCKS It's a decent application. The interface is kind of basic and the application's functions are very basic, but it has potential. There is a bug, though. Start up iChatState and then click the red x in the corner to close the application. There's currently no way of re-opening or opening a new instance of the application. You'd have to quit the application for it to show the GUI again. Otherwise, it's a decent app and does as described. (Version 1.8)

XMROCKS System resource hog. When my mouse is moving around in the interface, LineIn (used to play audio from my iMic) gets all garbled. This is with the mouse just moving around in the Google Earth interface and not actually zooming in/out or doing any work. The same goes with using iTunes and playing music. It distorts the music and evens slows the music down. No other apps are open so it's not a conflict of what's getting CPU time and what's not. Yes, it's a beta and yes, it's very buggy. HAte to say it, but exceptionally disappointing so far. (Version 3.1.0371)
