XSMURF I'm speaking through my hat, but GrowlHelper is a little flawed in 10.5.X and takes a LOT of CPU and it seems to hang rather often (at least here) (Version 1.62)

XSMURF I store my music library on a network drive. Tangerine doesn't seem to like that, it gave an error on all the tracks. This is unusable for me until it starts supporting remote drives. I really don't see why it doesn't work, iTunes is opened and can play the tunes just fine, the share is mounted. (Version 1.1.1)

XSMURF I love MagiCal ^.^ But PLEASE either fix the auto updates or make a bigger release, say, every week? Or better yet, both ;) This is getting quiet annoying, I'm just not updating anymore, even when I see them updates. But yeah, don't get me wrong, progress is always good, the only thing I'm bitching about is distribution. Keep up the great work ^.^ (Version 1.1a8)

DEMOSTHENES My general policy is to fix bugs as quickly as possible after they are reported. It just so happens that there have been a lot of bugs reported over the last few days. I don't expect that there will be any more updates for a while now, as most of the urgent issues seem to have been resolved. I strongly recommend that you update to 1.1a8, which is relatively stable. Versions prior to 1.1a7 don't actually tell the time correctly! (Version 1.1a8)

XSMURF This theme seriously kicks ass. The buttons and other widgets (namely scroll bars) are beautiful! "À la iTunes 7", imho. To be honest, I wished there were more variants. Such as more original colors; I'm not a huge fan of the dark pastel used for Mail an Vienna (the bullets & icons are super sweet though). P.S. The theme doesn't seem to get applied to VLC version 0.8.6b. (Version 2.0)

XSMURF DB: I'd add, how does this compare to Home Zone, why IMO will go Shareware after it's final release :/ Any plans on supporting WiFi detection? This is for me the main detection mode, but I have to agree IP based is very interesting! I'll have to give this a shot. Can't wait for you to release the source so we can all start working, errr I mean put our coding monkeys on it :P (Version 0.8)

XSMURF I've had a very similar problem on my Quicksilver with my iMic. The only solution I've found is unpluging the device and pluging it back. Although sometimes the only thing that would fix this was a reboot. I never found the source (I am *NOT* using this software). (Version 1.5)

XSMURF I haven't check so I won't comment. From past experience these are usually harmless version checks. If you are UNIX literate or at least not affraid of the Terminal get tcpflow (from fink/ports or there's a pkg somewhere -entropy.ch). It'll allow you to see what's the traffic on a specific port. Use LittleSnitch to know on what port the application is trying to connect. Hope this helps answers your worries. As for the dev, if it's not already, make sure you note this software update somewhere so as not to confuse your users. (Version 1.0.1)

XSMURF I ahve the same thing happening to me t the left fan. Albeit here, it was making a lot of noise for a bit and it decided to give up over the weekend while I was doing some CPU intensive stuff. My Macbook Pro is now on it's way to service (3 hits with one stone, it'll get fix for the whinning noise along with a discoloration of the left palm rest). I doubt running the speed at half their full speed is entierly responsible. It has an effect for sure, but if the fan can run at 6000 rpm, it's meant to run at 6000 rpm. So it should break running at half the max speed. The only reason, imho, Apple uses lower speeds is for sound. (Version 1.2.1a)

XSMURF Great little add, I can keep the MacBook Pro running between 45~55 with minimal noise! I LOVE IT... I'm only sad someone beat me to the French localization :/ The only thing I can say about this app is I which it could automagically set the fan's speed according to a (variable, user defined) ratio of fan speed/cpu usage. For ex: CPU < 20% fan: 2000 CPU < 40% fan : 3000 and so forth. Keep up the good work! (Version 1.1.2)

IMAP Idle Plugin | Oct 9 2006 |
XSMURF I have noticed the "No New Mail" sound seem to pop up when IDLE returns actions other than new mail. Such as Mail[400] IM_IDLING: john@example: 2 events 2006-10-09 11:02:13.449 Mail[400] checkNewMail: john@example Also it might be only me, but Mail.app seems to crash more often. I'll have to look into it deep, I'll post logs when I do. P.S. I run the GPG Bundle along with SpamSieve under 10.4.8 with a stripped x86 only Mail.app (Version 1.02)

iBackupIt | Oct 9 2006 |
XSMURF I haven't used the app for a long time, but it looks very promising. I like the way it uses a dmg to store data, which allows you to save your backup remotely (what ever the share is using -smb, ntf, afp). There are two things I wish this app would have... a progress bar to have an idea of how much time it will take and a cancel button in case it's taking too long ;p (Version 1.7)

IMAP Idle Plugin | Sep 29 2006 |
XSMURF Very nice! I've been wanting this feature from Mail for ever to help reduce the load on my mail server! On a side note: If you, like me, have IMAP and POP accounts (say GMail, hint hint Gmail we want IMAP!), you'll want to disable the "Include when automatically checking for new mail" checkbox in the "Advanced" tab of all your IMAP accounts so Mail.app will still use the automatic checking for the POP accounts and just bypass the IMAP accounts. I give you 4 on features and ease of use because reporting the availability of IDLE should be easier (not that it personally affected me). I can't review the stability as I've only been using this for 15 mins, but as far as I can see, this is a 5 :) (Version 1.02)

XSMURF I just wanted to say I really like RB :) I simply would not use my Apple Remote if it wasn't for it! The only thing I find a bit annoying is that you can't switch the OSD from screen to screen. I often watch a flicks on the TV while doing something else on the machine, while using RB. Thus, having the OSD on the TV (second monitor) would make more sense. And most of all it would allow my girlfriend to watch a flick while I work on the machine totally transparently! My 2 cents :) (Version 1.0pre7b)

XSMURF Very nice little app. I used to have a little shell script for doing just what this does but this is even nicer :) Now you need growl support and that sort of fancy things ;D so you get 4 for features just cause there is always place for more. Honestly the interface could be polished, but heh the joy of osx, I did myself hehe here's my "improved" (to my tastes at least) UI. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g288/xsmurf_photosster/iTRC.png It is definitely not as small, but I like it better that way (Version 1.3)

XSMURF This is a great little app. I needed a fast way of creating a picture gallery. This did the job perfectly. Although I do not agree with the developer's decision of using non standard html. On top of that after that you can easily add custom css. As for people have trouble with opening the app... Right-click on the app and select "View package content" Then browse to ./Contents/MacOS/ Go to the terminal and type "sudo chmod +x " (not the extra space!) and then drag the file in the MacOS folder and drop it on the terminal. Hit return it'll ask you for your password (you gotta be admin). Tada it opens... IIRC it's a well known and documented bug of sit archives. (Version 2.2.2)
