Typinator

WRELEVEN  I went the other way from Typinator to Textpander because of the upgrade and license policy. Textpander's policies were much clearer to me - and since I have a laptop and a desktop I don't need two licenses.

WRELEVEN  Since this has a menu-extra please allow for icon removal in the dock. Of course you'd need to include all the major menu function in the little menu-extra menu. I don't think this should live in the dock and the menu - pick one (the menu ;-) !

MAMP Pro
Sep 4 2009

WRELEVEN  Actually a pretty cool package. It does use some odd directories to keep everything together and ensure that it doesn't disturb the apple/standard installed servers.

Though I was happy to see Snow Leopard support, I was disappointed that none of the MAMP software is 64bit. The pro version is quite welcome and truly makes it easy to manage the apache server.

Python
Feb 28 2009

WRELEVEN  Since most developers already indent in a compatible way it's not the main issue. I know I felt weird about losing the { and } brackets though. They were like visual safety belts. I'm comfortable with Python now, I'm happen to trade them in for a better language.

WRELEVEN  Other than File>Export :) They have implemented an open XML export format in the last few versions.

ActivePython

WRELEVEN  Unfortunately it's only a two-way universal build for PPC and Intel 32bit. If you're looking for a quad-way build with 64 bit support you'll have to build it yourself.

I've not been successful using a two-way install with mod_wsgi and apache running on a 64bit machine. The older built-in Python is a 4-way build that does work.

Saft
Oct 30 2007

WRELEVEN  Nope, $6.00 upgrade to the new version unless you've recently purchased Saft Tiger. The new leopard version works, but it's of a strange way to launch Safari to say the least.

I kinda wonder why something like Inquisitor works fine with the updated permissions fix but Saft now needs a loader to launch Safari each session.

WRELEVEN  As a beta tester I also tried to buy on the 25th, no joy at all. Now I think I'll wait until the next major release before I consider purchasing.

Apple Wireless Keyboard Update
Sep 12 2007

WRELEVEN  Finally the dashboard and exposŽ keys work as they should my the Aluminum keyboard and my MacPro. I called Apple after I got the keyboard and they wanted me to send it in - seeing as the keys worked (just not they way they should) I was pretty sure it was a software issue.

MenuCalendarClock iCal
Sep 5 2007

WRELEVEN  I own this app - and I think it's great! All that being said I have temporarily switch to MagiCal because of MenuCalendarClocks memory footprint. After it's been on for a few days this little extra starts taking up a lot of real memory.

WRELEVEN  Awesome new beta!

I upgraded my version 1 key once I saw the screenshot. Works flawlessly and has a bunch of new network traffic features that will make any paranoid geek squeal with glee.

WRELEVEN  Does anyone have any experience with this and any other subversion clients to compare it to? I don't have any immediate use for a client, but I know I'll need one soon.

WRELEVEN  I've been watching this app for years. It always seemed to be overkill, but from what I hear it takes a little bit of customization to get exactly what you need. Perhaps now is the time to support the developer.
