i have a new MacPro (circa january 08) and the DW 4.1 update was supposed to make Disk Warrior boot and repair machines like mine. for me, however, when i put in the cd and tell the machine to use it as its start-up drive the machine just boots to the grey apple screen and then reboots and reboots and reboots in an endless loop. |

having now tried iWOW, i feel like i can say that it is not nearly as good as Volume Logic was... luckily this recommendation resurrected volume logic for me and others as well. so hopefully it will for you too. http://forums.macosxhints.com/showpost.php?p=420882&postcount=5 also, they mention that they think apple bought the technology and that it will be incorporated into future versions of iTunes... let's hope this is true. --- paste of what that post says to do in case the link dies: 1. drag from Library/audio/hal/volumelogic plugin onto appzapp. (uninstall) 2. reinstall use your serial number 3. download a copy of iWow from SRS Labs Install it. 4. go into library/audio/hal 5. drag out iwow onto desktop 6. show pakage contents (cntrl click) of volume logic. 7. do the same thing for Iwow on the desktop. 8. goto contents/macOS/ and drag itea out and into the Volume Logic package (SIMPLY PUT you are replacing the old iTea package from inside the volume logic plugn with the updated one inside of the Iwow plugin) |

so apparently there IS a competitor for Volume Logic called SRS iWOW 2. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/22847/ and while it also does not work with Leopard, at least they are still supporting it and claim it will shortly. I have not used it to know if it does as good a job as Volume Logic did, but here's hoping... |

the previous post is correct, the company has stopped developing this software. also, leopard broke it. i am so upset. this software is what made iTunes a good solution for me, and as far as i can tell there is no alternative to its equal. |

i had problems as well with iTunes 7.2. when i reinstalled Uno to try to make iTunes 7.2 look right, all hell broke loose, and iTunes could no longer see music, like the library would just be a blank window and browsing the iTMS i could see art/reviews/etc, but no track listings. Weird. Anyway, I had to uninstall Uno entirely, then reinstall iTunes to get everything to work again. i love Uno and really hope you can update it soon so my system can look nice again soon! thanks!! |

doesn't run for me. when i 'activate' it in itunes nothing happens. all other virtualizers work fine. i have a rather large library 2000+ artists, 3500+ albums, etc. could that be the problem? running on a g5 dual-2.5ghz, 2.5gb ram, latest os and itunes. any ideas? look forward to an updated version that might run on my machine. seems way cool. |

i've heard from friends who said it didn't work for them for whatever reason. but in my case i worked like a champ! saved about 120gb of data off a drive that disk warrior, disk utility, and tech tool pro couldn't do a thing for. the 'demo' where you can see what is recoverable worked great, i was able to retrieve a single file, and it worked, so i forked over the money and within the next few hours i had 99% of the stuff on my drive back, and uncorrupted (other apps have done that to me where i recovered files that were unusable, but not this one)! |

this is an indispensable app! music sounds terrible without it. people have talked a lot about how good it is for little built-in speakers and what not, but i'd like to mention how great it also is for nice large speakers. i have a pair of $900 boston acoustics, running thru a decent enough amp, and music sounds infinitely better with Volume Logic on rather than off. particularly spoken word or spoken words over background music sound better. but in general, everything just sounds much better. |

fast. clean. nice features. key commands make it even better than the website. address book integration is cool. i give it an 11. |
