I've paid for this program, twice. Once for the original, then for an upgrade beyond my original version. I was surprised that the upgrade to 2.9.1 didn't automatically pick up my previous registration, but it didn't, and since I've lost track of it I'm relegated to a stripped down, rather buggy version now (explanation below) Guess I'm out of luck there, until I pony up yet again. As for the bugginess... 1) trying to enlarge the program results in only half a window, until I actually start a game, then resize. 2) I get photos of players in the small version, but not in the enlarged window. Maybe it's reading a stray electron carrying my registration! |

After writing my comments below, I have had an opportunity to experiment with this program a bit, and have decided that it's high time someone rated it to help get the word out. This is a great program for dieters. Keeping a record of one's diet is an empowering tool, and this software allows one to keep meticulous records of not only calories, but fiber, vitamins, minerals, et. al., etc., etc. The display is professional, and the fact that it's a free program floors me. In fact it dawns on me that the developers are missing out not marketing this program to all dieters. You should rename it, to reflect it's status as a powerful diet tool, rather than relegate it CR use. |

Great program. Glad I found it. I don't live on a CR diet, but I do like to track the calories I take in, and my diabetic wife uses it to graph glucose levels. How difficult would it be to give us a US measurements option? Currently I have to convert ounces to grams before inputting foods. Thanks for the great program. I'm truly impressed with this free offering. |

How do I "uninstall" this program? I've trashed everything I can think of using "Appdelete" and I still get the following security alert from Little Snitch: Application "finderpop-daemon" (1744) attempts to inject and execute foreign program code in "Finder" (107). This is a security risk as it may allow "finderpop-daemon" to circumvent Little Snitch. To disable this alert, go to Little Snitch's Preference Pane, click the lock to authenticate, choose "Preferences" from the Action menu (gear wheel icon) and uncheck "Enable Code Injection Alert". |

Don't like it myself. Very troublesome at first, allowing everything to connect. Finally decided it wasn't worth the bother, and then trying to trash it requires a little in-depth investigating as to where the actual program resides. Would love to hear from someone who actually found this useful - by that I mean, it actually stopped unauthorized communicaiton. |

Great job! And as a commercial pilot, I can tell you that your simulation is very good - especially the sky and ground. I don't think I've ever seen those fireworks get quite that much altitude in real life though! Not while flying a commercial jet, at least! |

QuickEntry widget is great when it works, but it's always loosing track of my data file, and then it becomes useless. Contacting Intuit is absurd. There is virtually no free telephone support, even for new purchases, and their "chat" feature makes me wonder whether any of them speak English, let alone are they able to help. Emails to them return useless advice. Setting up online accounts is cumbersome, and without support from Intuit you must reley on the institution you're setting up the account with. They can be much more valuable than Intuit themselves. |

My G4 takes about 12 minutes to rip using MTR and an external LaCie drive. |

After playing many rounds, I find it a bit teadeous to keep loosing to players, that in the "real world" would more than likely have folded long before the river card, but it is that card that puts them ahead. Until that point, this fictitious player had nada, but stayed in to draw to an inside straight, etc. Happens time and again in this "scenario." Bluffing aside (because the only real player in the game can't do it) it's not a realistic scenario. |

Actually, it does run under rosetta. Your DVD could have crashed for any number of reasons, many having nothing to do with this program. Recommend you go to their site (www.ripdifferent.com) and join the discussion group. |

I'd really like to see this in a full application style. In fact I'd pay for it, within reason ($15 or so). As a widget, it's necessarily large, and the action is quite fast for someone trying to learn the game. As a full application, you could have preferences to slow the game, or more user controls. Thanks for putting this out free. |

I wrote a speadsheet in excel that has been indispensible for my retirement planning. If you'd like a generic copy (free) email me at wjb3wvu@yahoo.com. Be glad to share. You should be somewhat familiar with excell, in order to personalize it. |

I'm going to retract some of my earlier statements about this company. The program is still useless on my machine, but the developer is going the extra mile to find a resolution. Earlier I had posted that I was not hearing from them. They say they were at Mac World for the week, and have since been communicating with me regularly. We haven't come across a fix, but it's nice that they're attempting to find one, and keeping me informed while doing so. I'll also offer this: I have an upgraded CPU, and though I've had zero issues with it in the past - with any other software - the developer thinks this could be the issue with my machine. |

Patch b10 doesn't solve my problem. For a synopsis of that, read my earlier posts. At least Feral has answered emails now. Perhaps they'll stay in touch and we can reach a resolution. I'm running a 1GHz PPC G4 with 896 MB ram and OS 10.4.4. Chessmaster crashes with every attempt to play it. |

Time to update my review below. Feral has had a week to respond to any of my numerous emails to their customer service and tech support address. Their program won't run on my setup, even though I have ample computing power to do so (I checked before buying). This game simply won't run on OS 10.4, and they don't seem to care, or inclined to do anything to indicate to me that they're working to fix it. What a shame - such potential, but DON'T purchase. |

Just purchased Chessmaster 9000 1.0.1. Wish I had read these comments before doing so. I just won't run on my OS 10.4.3. Crashes as soon as I try to begin play. Feral should have stated up front that this version has issues with OS 10.4. They were more than happy to take my money, and it is a little early to assess their support, but I'm not real optomistic after reading comments in this forum. As it stands now, my $40 investment is a coaster. My ratings reflect the potential this game has, but it's virtually worthless as is. |

Works great. Directions are simple, but do read them. This was the only program that allowed me to back up my GPS DVDs where others failed. |

The program claims to burn DVDs as well as CDs, but I can't find documentation in the read-me file for DVDs. I'm trying to backup my copy of Pioneer's GPS DVD disk but can't seem to get a working copy. Any ideas, anybody? |

I tried both DVDpedia and DVD Navigator. Easy decision, even considering 'freeware' vs 'shareware,' DVDpedia is the best out there. Once I figured out that I could configure the columns it took away my last complaint! |

ditto the review by "jon" below. A fun game, but instructions would save five minutes of experimentation. Also, it would be nice to see the version number on the back of the app instead of having to go to the library folder to find it. I didn't know if I needed to download this upgrade until I looked it up. |

Thought of another feature I'd love to see - how about being able to animate motion of the cloud cover, much like we see on our local weather channels. You'd have to have a fast processor, but it'd be a great feature. |

This is an upgrade for me from version 2.7 Prior to the upgrade I would have given the nod to the free OSXPlanet, but this upgrade makes the price worth it. Graphics are stupendous, and cloud rendering pulls it all together into a very realistic graphic. Well worth the asking price. I would like to see an opposing globe image. Since the globe is the most accurate rendition, I'd like to be able to view the entire earth that way, instead of just half. |

Welocme back, Weathedock. I've missed you! Thanks for the bug fix. After the previous version quit working (because of weather.com) I started looking for alternatives. None stack up to Weatherdock. |

Weatherdock stopped working this morning. Apparently the weather.com site has moved. |
