WIDGETMAN Coda is incredible. It has an excellent interface for one thing, and has nice Transmit integration. The built-in editor is very cool (they even use their own font "Panic Sans"). All of this is nice, but for me the major winning feature is the code autocompletion and suggestions popup in the editor. Good syntax highlighting, nice built-in ssh mode and a nice graphical css editor (not quit as powerful as CSSEdit but very very adequate). I have nothing bad to say, I am going to be purchasing a copy and highly recommending it to others. Download it already! (Version 1.0)

Trampoline | Apr 18 2007 |
WIDGETMAN Well, I use it in addition to the dock and I absolutely love it. When assigned to be activated by the fourth mouse button on a mighty mouse, it becomes a very quick launcher that is accesible without me having to move my mouse all the way over to the side of the screen for the dock. Also, I keep different items in Trampoline than in the dock...the apps in Trampoline are the ones I use very very often (Mail, Terminal, iTunes, TextEdit, etc.) and with Trampoline I have a very convenient way to launch one of them. WIDGETMAN Easily the best and most useful todo list I've ever seen and used. This application is worthy of being bundled with the operating system in my opinion. It is extremely easy to use and learn, as it simply just works as you'd expect it to work. The interface is very easy to look at and will feel instantly comfortable to any user. I can't recommend this application enough! It's a shame that the rating system only goes up to 5. (Version 3.6)

Flock | Feb 20 2007 |
WIDGETMAN The interface is very clunky and slow, it takes longer to load pages, it doesnt follow any standards that mac applications follow, and it looks like crap. Posting on a blog is not that hard to do, a browser isn't needed to make it easier. It's also a big memory hog... It's just so unnecessary, safari is cocoa and lightweight, and will always be faster and easier to use, let alone more integrated with the system. (Version 0.7.10.2)

WIDGETMAN Opening a terminal window set to your home directory is Terminal.app's default behavior. Try opening Terminal.app and just closing the default window that pops up and then use this plugin to open a terminal window. (Version 2.0)

WIDGETMAN Uhh...if it's "like" emacs, but it's $250...why not just use emacs? Or even, why not just use one of the excellent free or laregly inexpensive editors out there. I recommend TextMate, it is much better than anything aspiring to be a highly overpriced emacs clone. (Version 13.0.1)

WIDGETMAN Very cool application. The interface is funky and in some places it doesn't behave like a native mac application, but it doesn't matter for this app as it works perfectly. I have never had it crash once for me, and it works exactly as expected functionality wise. I highly recommed it. (Version 0.9.10)

WIDGETMAN This library is incredible. I am normally very picky about how native my interfaces feel and everything, and this application runs and feels like every other native Cocoa application I've ever used, but it's written in Carbon and C++. I will definitely be investigating the posibilities of this library and plan to make some feature additions myself (It comes with the source). (Version 1.0)

WIDGETMAN When making comments on an ALPHA program, don't say ignorant things like "lacks features" and "useless". The reason that the developer has taken the effort to label it as alpha is because he knows that it isn't close to done yet and does not yet have a full feature set. LOUDSCREAMER, you sir, are an idiot. The browser is fine, you never know, it come become the next firefox in a year or two, so please people, don't be so dumb. Have a good day. (Version 1.1.4a)

MIKURO I'm a developer myself, so I respect the effort put into making products, and I'm glad you do, too. But when I'm looking at products on MacUpdate, I want to know what they do, and if they're worth using. So I find honest criticism, however harsh, more helpful than a "we're all winners" 5-star rating. (Version 1.1.4a)

MU5TI "The browser is fine, you never know, it come become the next firefox in a year or two, so please people, don't be so dumb." Now tell me "come" is a mistype for "can", and I will roll on the floor bursting my gut laughing. Firefox...this school project...he actually compared this to Firefox...MUHAHAAAAAAA (Version 1.1.4a)

SAM RAE mu5ti: Perhaps you should have a read of the Wikipedia entry on Linux: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux#History It has this interesting snippet: "Meanwhile, in 1991, another kernel was begun as a hobby by Finnish university student Linus Torvalds while attending the University of Helsinki." Guess that school project was a waste of time, hey? (Version 1.1.4a)

MU5TI Sam: Moot argument. This school project *requires* WebKit. In other words, it is a frontend. Linux is not a frontend. (And another point, Linux was, is, and will never be something new or groundbreaking, but UNIX was). Actually I liked the comparison to Firefox better. It was a bit more possible, though improbable. Now you stepped it up: comparing this to Linux. Oh no. As for the "some people..." comment: I have all the respect in the world for programmers, as I have close friends who code to put bread on the table, and as I don't know how to code myself. And creating something out of nothing is cool, to say the least. My main problem is people with dumbass remarks and calling others "fools", whereby making illogical comparisons to tried, tested, 200M times-downloaded software to school projects. (Version 1.1.5a)

Scourge | Aug 10 2006 |
SAM RAE Mu5ti: It was not a moot argument at all. Your original comment criticised the software by saying it was a "school project". I responded by saying that just because it is a school project does not mean it is or will be poor software, and I cited the example of Linux to support my argument. As for your last comment, you are correct in saying that this browser requires WebKit. That does not mean it is bad software. OmniWeb (http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniweb/) also requires Apple's WebCore, and it has many innovative features. The same with Flock (http://www.flock.com/)—it's built off Mozilla, but it has many new and useful features. I actually use it as my main web browser at work now. Camino (http://www.caminobrowser.org/) also uses the Gecko rendering engine, and it is now my preferred browser for home. So I have cited examples to refute the arguments: a) that "school project" software is necessarily poor quality; and b) that software built off another framework is inherently poor software. I would appreciate some counter-examples if you have some. (Version 1.1.5a)

MU5TI Sam, before hijacking the reviews further (I think we've done it already, but...), let's argue in private. I value your comments and would like you to see my point as well, which I think I've failed to make clear. (Your two points on my view, for example...) Anyways, should you care to continue the discussion, you can reach me at mustiman at gmail. (Version 1.1.5a)

WIDGETMAN Truly excellent application. Much better sound quality than Skype and just a better app in general. The only thing that Gizmo is missing is direct file transfers, but I'm sure that will show up eventually. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to do VOIP. (Version 2.0.0.155)
