WIDGE34  Why would anyone pay for this when there are other mail apps out there such as Apples Mail, Postbox, Thunderbird etc?

MailForge
Jun 18 2009

STEVE R  I'm an old fart and I hang out on mailing lists with other old farts. Despite our ages, we try new things like other mail apps, and those of us who have been using Eudora since the early '90s still prefer to use Eudora. It suits our needs. Right now though, the only PPC app on my Intel Mac is Eudora 6.2.4. I've tried the 'new' Thunderbird-like Eudora and hate it. If MailForge comes anywhere near the classic Eudora handling of email, my credit card will be out to pay for it.

WIDGE34  But why would you want to pay for this browser when there are free browsers out there that are better?

Gmail Browser
Jan 14 2008

WIDGE34  I would use this if it block the right hand side ads when a message is opened. There seems to be a box to tick in preferences to block ads, but it does not work.

Opera

WIDGE34  I can read my Gmail account from Opera fine.

You may have to experiment with site preferences and have the prefs identify the site as Opera. Gmail does not seem to work if you identify as firefox or IE.

WIDGE34  Excellent. I've longed for an app like this. Its always been a bit of a pain to export the photo to the desktop then go to your email and attach it. This app is so much quicker.

Brilliant

Gmail Browser

WIDGE34  Good idea. But Gmail Browser seems to have Safari underpinnings.

There is no option down the left hand side to chat. This is missing when gmail is used with safari.

calendar seems fine though.

picasa thumbnails do not load either. Although i'm not sure if this is supported.

OmniWeb
Feb 1 2007

WIDGE34  Needs a Tab Bar. The side bar takes up too much screen room, especially if you have a 15" screen.

When i launch Omniweb it doesn't automatically fill the my screen, i have to do it manually.

This browser is not as good as Safari, Camino, Firefox or Shiira so why would you want to pay for it???
