Timer Utility

W100D001  This utility is a must have. I would have expected something like this to already be included with OS X. Thank you developer. I use this at home for baking (among other things)... as well as at the office for reminders. Love it.

Path Finder

W100D001  Fantastic finder navigation! Love the concept.

However folder contents do not update for me.

I export to PDF out of InDesign to a folder and those PDF's do not show using Path Finder.

As well as when I change a folder name, it will not show the new name but it will show the new name when using the Apple Finder. Bueller... Bueller?

W100D001  I have a massive iTunes Library (2000 full length CD's, @ Apple Lossless)... I have been dragging my external around with me to play music at events... wow, this should makes things more convenient! However, it does raise the question of whether I must set my Mac to "never sleep" in order to access my music? (I think yes). Plus, will my monthly internet upload/download be exceeded? (I think yes) Hmmm, perhaps I'll look into this more!

DON EVANSON  Why re-invent the wheel?

Apple and Microsoft have the resourses and money to develope software superior to any free/shareware. Sorry, but why mess around with wet sand and a stick when the real deal was mastered years ago. My advise to any program hobbiest would be to write software never before seen... ie: www.spooftel.com... now that's cool!

NAMAN  Uh, what? Okay, I'll grant you, Safari is a decent browser. However, it's based on open-source technology (Konqueror) that Apple just improved on. As for Microsoft... if you actually think IE is a sound piece of software, might I interest you in a sure-fire business deal of selling ice-makers to Inuits? Yeah, Safari is comparable to, and perhaps even better than Camino, but OSS is _not_ inherently inferior.

ANONYMOUS  Anyone who doesn't know that Safari is based on an opensource browser is just not paying attention.

But, building on an existing opensource browser base, Apple created a browser arguably better than all the opensource browsers currently available and did it in, comparably speaking, no time flat. Sure, yes, of course, we know that Apple did not start from scratch. Others could have conceivably done the same in building on something that already exists. But it has not happened, no one has gotten as far as Safari has in such a short time. I have used every browser there is for OS X, and not just in passing. I have given them all a respectable workout. Nothing beats Safari for speed and looks (looks: both in the way of GUI and in the way of rendering pages) in my experience and on my Macs.

No opensource group has the resources with which to crack the whip such as Apple has. And Microslop? They are not even on my radar. I wouldn't use any of their software under any circumstances. Final thought: if your sense of aesthetics tells you that there is a better-looking and better-rendering browser out there, you would not know the difference between Budweiser and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

NAMAN  Wow, you're really full of yourself, aren't you? Aesthetics are subjective. I don't have the gall to say "I think Camino looks better, so you shouldn't use Safari" so don't try to tell me that I should use Safari because Camino doesn't look as 'good'. Like I said elsewhere in this thread, it mostly comes down to a matter of preference, and I prefer Camino. I don't see anything wrong with others preferring Safari, either, but I do get kind of pissed off when people needlessly bash Camino.
