VALENS There used to be a very good xiang qi implementation for OS 9, but not so much for OS X. It'd be great if this can be improved further. First, an option to use the other side, not just the first-moving player. Multiplayer would be cool, even if it's just "hotseat" style (non-networked) games when I'm too lazy to break out the real board + pieces. Ability to save a game, when I can only play a few moves and need to go somewhere. The drag-and-drop algorithm for pieces need to be fixed, because several times I've dropped a piece down, only to have it land to the immediate left or right of where I placed it. On some other occasions, I try to move a piece, only to end up moving a piece immediately next to it. Either fix this or implement Undo. Movement of opponent pieces should be animated more, or there should be some other display of move history. Sometimes I can't even tell which piece the opponent moved. In any case, a good first pass. The AI algorithm seems reasonable, but I'm a mediocre player. (Version 1.0) |
